Game Thread | 2020-21 Season | Game #54 | Cavs @ Hornets | April 14, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The whole play in tournament thing is stupid as hell. I really can’t stand Adam Silver. I see 3 more wins for the Cavaliers. I doubt the Cavs get to the play in, but it’ll be interesting.
Only 3 wins, the Cavs play the Bulls twice, the Hornets,Pistons,Raptors,Magic,Pacers one more time, the Wizards three times that's easily five, maybe six games we could win between those teams.

I wouldn't be surprised, if we beat the Nets in the last game of the season.

this was a gift win against the depleted Hornets and the Pistons may be better than the Cavs right now.

Better odds are great but they don’t always match up with the actual results when the lotto drawing is just four quick running of the instead of hundreds of runnings when the odds start to hold more to form.

Shocking that a random process produces random results.

That’s your opinion. I saw the schedule before I made my post. And as I said before I see the Cavs with 3 more wins. If they win more, that’s fine, but yeah. I said what I said.

Many wonder how random it IS.
The Cavaliers and Pelicans have won five lotteries of the past ten. You are seriously suggesting the NBA fixed the lottery for those two cities? The NBA wanted Zion in New Orleans instead of NY or LA?

The draw of ping pong balls is supervised by representatives of all the teams involved.

I thought it was well known that NBA paid off Gilbert with draft picks, so he dropped the idea that Miami clearly tampered. :detective:

Prince saved the Cavs' bacon tonight with an awesome 25-point performance in 29 minutes and also contributed 4 rebounds and 3 assists. I'm not a fan of those six turnovers, though.

Love is settling in nicely with 17/11/4 in 27 minutes. He's awful on defense, though. Allen looked solid with 15 points and 8 rebounds, but I still think he needs more intensity. I get frustrated when he has the ball within three feet of the rim with a smaller man on him and he either gets stripped or misses a point blank shot. And why won't the refs call a foul when he gets mugged in front of the rim?

Hartenstein continues to contribute with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots in 13 minutes. He's very productive.

Defensively the Cavs were pretty good, holding the Hornets to 90 and Rozier to 22 in 43 minutes. They won the rebounds 47-38 and the free throws 16-6. They blocked seven shots. I know that the Hornets were missing four of their leading scorers, but I thought the defense was respectable.

Nice to see Wade hit two big 3's down the stretch after missing two earlier.

Other than Sexton being out this is the Cavs' team we'll be seeing the rest of the year. Should be interesting now that they have pretty much everybody.

And New Orleans was getting compensated for losing Unibrow to a big market team.

A completely satisfying win from the Cavs.
Love having Allen and Nance back, but even more Kevin Love available when they're back.
Prince was on fire. So was Drippy Dean.
GARLAND!!!!!!!!!!!

And dammit, I still like what Okoro is doing.
The 19-win curse is over.
I still like this team better than the post-Decision teams, even though one of my favorite players was here.

Fedor pointed this out...

J.B. Bickerstaff stuck with that spaced-out look, using Love and Wade together, sliding Wade to the 3. Isaac Okoro got the nod at shooting guard in Collin Sexton’s spot

That's an interesting lineup with Allen or Hartenstein at the 5 and Love and Wade at the 4 and 3. Very good rebounding group and you have four guys who can hit 3's plus Allen/Hart.
