Game Thread | 2020-21 Season | Game #57 | Cavs @ Pistons | April 19, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll be honest this one just reeks of narrative.

The entire problem with this team, from the start of the season till now, is their total lack of shooting ability.

Most games you can look at one stat, their putrid 3 point shooting, as to why they lost.
you hear time and time again about trying to mimic Portland, but its night and day when it comes to the 3's.

Yeah, Garland is not a jedi yet. Much like Colin vs the Bulls, you gotta make the shots to win that despite Allen sucked, Okoro sucked on both ends and the bench sucks. They couldn't hit broad side of the barn. It's what makes the stars and studs. You hit the shots to win.

We might as well reduce minutes and go all in on tanking. The Bulls and Wizards are pushing for the play in. Might as well fight for the 3-6 spots.

Darius Garland not being a sniper is a major blow to this working.

But the team having absolutely zero competent shooting around them makes it hard to read at the moment.

It's amazing how Altman has managed to find zero decent shooting.

you shit on Garland at every opportunity even in a game he is playing well and rarely critique Sexton.. its pretty obvious

Brother, read your post and then read mind and then think this through.

You're the dude blaming the "midget backcourt." Which includes Garland.

I'm the guy telling you they weren't the problem.

The fuck...................

The midget backcourt is a problem... is it the only problem? no, but it is a problem
You told me I have a narrative so I've told you yours.

There are games when I think Okoro should give up his dream of being a jedi and just settle on being a moisture farmer on his desert planet.

So if they start Okoro at 2 and then someone else at 3 that fixes their shooting issues? What does that do, exactly?

What about Garland and Sexton being small caused them to lose that game tonight?

I just rewatched that Sexton/jackson play and he most definitely wasn't caught ball watching.

He reached in and caused Josh Jackson to fumble the ball and almost caused a TO.

He then cut off the backdoor cut and Frank Jackson caught the ball at the 3 point line. Sexton ran him off of it and honestly Hartenstein needs to be able to deter that shot and he absolutely can't give up the And 1 there.

Maybe it wasn't the smartest play but the Cavs half-court offense is so bad they have to take some chances to force turnovers.

Frank Jackson shouldn't be finishing over our 7'0 C and getting an And 1.

errr let me see
Killian Hayes got to the paint at will and threw it up to Stewart time and time again. Maybe you wanna blame our centers for not being able to cover both players but it actually starts with the guards on the perimeter.
oh and a guy called Frank jackson scored 20 off the bench..
Bey had no issue shooting over dwarfs

Bey was shooting over Kevin Love the entire night lol.

And Allen WAS the issue on almost all of those oops. He wasn't getting a foot off the ground.

Josh Jackson was 5-16. Guess who spent most of the night on him.

I'm not gonna go to the mat that those two are gonna be great defenders. Garland is particularly atrocious on that end and most likely always will be.

But that was not the problem tonight and hoenstly hasn't been the problem most of the season.

Either way, this is pointless. If you watched that game and the last game and the one before that and most of them this season...defense hasn't been the primary issue. They can't shoot the ball.

But go on.

Killian Hayes is going to be fun in a few years

Love and Allen was horrible tonight. I dont understand, the issue with Allen.Every, since that first matchup against the Pelicans, he hasn't been right for the most part.

When is someone gonna hold Mr Talc accountable for being lazy. After, that first game back he's been playing like shit...Then have the audacity to look at one of the young players when they mess up.

Why is JB not putting the ball in Sexton's hand in the fourth quarter. He is the team's closer.

Why is JB continue to put Sexton near the three-point line. It's the reason, why Okoro struggled at the beginning of the season...Why not tell Sexton and Okoro to cut to the basket instead of having them become spot up shooters.
