The month of April comes to a close with three more draft picks for the Browns and a rematch of the Wizards/Cavs game last Sunday which the Wizards won 119-110. The Cavs battled hard without Collin Sexton and the score was tied with 2:45 to go before Westbrook and Beal took over and the Cavs folded.

Tonight the Cavs will still be without Sexton and they'll also be missing Nance, Hartenstein, Stevens, and Delly, who combined to play 64 minutes in that game. So the Cavs gain home court advantage but lose a bunch of players. Last game the Wizards' bench outscored the Cavs' bench 51-14. With all those guys out it could be worse tonight.

The Wizards are playing great basketball, having won 11 of their last 13 games. They're in 10th place and could move up a couple more spots if they keep winning. Westbrook just set an NBA record for triple-doubles in a month with 13. He'll probably get #14 tonight. His line in their win over the Lakers on Wednesday was 18 points, 18 assists, 14 rebounds. Not bad for a 32-year-old guard. Bradley Beal scorched the Cavs for 33 points Sunday and he'll probably do the same tonight unless they pull him early with a big lead.

So while the Wizards continue to build momentum for the playoffs (despite missing two starters in Deni Avdija and Thomas Bryant) the injury ravaged Cavs are playing out the string. It's probably best for both teams if the Wizards win. Jarrett Allen had a big game against them Sunday with 27 points and 12 boards. I'd like to see him try to expand his offensive game beyond dunks and put-backs. I like that jumper from the free throw line when he's uncontested.

What these last 10 games are about for the Cavaliers is giving guys like Kabengele, Wade, Thomas, and Dotson the opportunity to show they belong on an NBA roster next year.

Seven of the last 10 games are against teams with winning records. Two of the other three games are against the Wizards, who are 28-34 but might be the hottest team in the NBA right now. The only game left against a losing team that isn't the Wizards is a home game against the 29-33 Pacers.

We could very easily lose the last ten, especially given the injury situation. If that happens we will have finished the season on a 14-game losing streak. Talk about the ending with a whimper instead of a bang. Our best chance for a win might be the last game of the season against the Nets. If they have the #1 seed clinched they may just rest all their starters, which means the Cavs definitely get beat, but theoretically I suppose it gives them a better chance.

Sexton and Russ going at it should be fun tonight.

Garland was wide open. Travel.

The key to the offense is NBA teams still believing Kevin Love can shoot but Kevin Love not actually shooting.

It's a tricky one to pull off.

Okoro and wide open shots.

Since most of the game threads are comprised of resident Sexton haters he was really good defending Beal that first quarter.

Total clean block that got them a T as a bonus because Beal was embarrassed.

That Garland spin one foot mid range is nice.

That turnover was horrible by DG. Should’ve went for the shot. Too deep inside.

Garland has to stop with TOs like that.

THey're the worst kind.

He's underneath the rim and tossing the ball away trying to get it back out top, leading directly to fast breaks.

I like MK. I’d like to see him with DG more

Greg Newsome at the game.

Sexton's man to man is honestly way better than people think.

His issue is off the ball but when he's on the ball he plays bigger than he his. He's really altering guys trying to get to the rim against him.

Too bad he got worked by Ish Smith the possession before and after that
Why are you quoting me to say this? You don’t need to quote me to say your opinion. Thanks.

ETA. Ish smith cooked Okoro and Dotson. What your opinion on that?
