The Wizards' bench outscored the Cavs' bench 58-16. When you have six guys out with injuries you're not going to have much of a bench. Kabengele and Thomas were -17 and -25, respectively.
The Cavs were down only two points at halftime but fell apart in the third quarter, as usual. But down by 19 in the 4th they fought back to within 9 points but then Westbrook took over. At least the Cavs made him play 40 minutes. They competed.
Allen had the best game I've seen from him in a while, maybe since his concussion. He had 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 assists. We'll take that line every night. Cedi had 16 points and 6 assists and was a +4. Sexton had 26 points but turned it over six times. The Cavs had seven more turnovers than the Wizards, which cost them some points but not enough to win the game.
Westbrook was just too much with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 17 assists. Also, the Wizards had too much size in general. Bertans is 6'10", Gafford 6'10", Hachimura 6'8", Len 7'0", Lopez 7'0", and Gill 6'7" were just too much inside. They had 12 offensive rebounds to 7 for the Cavs.
Nice to see Garland back on the floor even if he only played 12 minutes.
71 down, one to go.
