Game Thread | 2021-2022 | Game #19 | Suns @ Cavs | Nov. 24, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Better go ahead and shit on the Cavs while you can because I’m sure the tone will change yet again once we get our best player back and don’t play the 3 best teams in the entire league with one hand tied behind our back every night.

Like, make all the “moral victory” jabs you want tonight but the Cavs are clearly a competitive team and this losing streak isn’t going to last very long. It isn’t 2010-2011 anymore.

But I guess it’s not “cool” to point out the positive changes because we just lost 4 games to with a combined record of somewhere near 45-10 this season without Mobley, and some with even more injuries.

Get off your high horse.

Agree with all of this, but it's best to just stop feeding the fucking troll.

BTW, I fucking love this team!!

Need Mobley back in the worse way.

Losing Sexton really sucks, man. But we NEED Mobley.
Well, I guess that pretty well frames the Sexton discussion. I don't think anyone feels we win these games with Sexton back 100%. But everyone feels we win with Mobley back.. And I would bet Mobley is a better NBAplayer in March than he is in November..

Look, last time we played the Sun's, they pulled the same shit in the third and we gave up, got smoked.. This time Cedi somehow channels Captain underpants, and brings us to even ( with some help from Lauri.. ) We still get screwed because the sun's bring in Chris Paul to close it.. But the way I see it, the Sun's don't bring Paul unless they take us seriously..

Cavs outplayed them all night. This loss isn't on JB
No loss is entirely on any single player or coach.

JB positive: the team believes in him, we play hard, we are solid defensively when healthy, positive young player development is ongoing

JB negative- weak ATO’s, poor clock management, poor minute management, poor rotations, poor late game decision making, poor overall strategy in crunch time

Listen, the Suns gifted us a free timeout. We were down 3, shot clock basically off, one timeout left. JBB should have had the guys ready to take the ball and rip down the floor, quick pick and roll action for what would have probably been a gimme layup. Then you start playing the foul game with the suns until under 8 or so seconds. You wait untiil you either gain an advantage in the FT game and then call TO to tie or win, If you go back and forth and the lead is still 3, you take your timeout at under 8 seconds and you advance the ball and give your best ATO play and hit someone curling off a screen for a catch and shoot three to prevent them fouling.

What you do NOT do, is WASTE your timeout…to draw up an off the dribble 3 from your 7th man no matter how hot he is. Even if he makes it and you tie it…Phoenix has a TO and can take the last shot on your home floor.

The clock management and timeout management was a clown show. JBB did NOT game every possible situation out. He tunnel visioned to the next possession. That is not what you look for from a coach that you want to be a long term coach to get you to the promised land, that is the kind of thing that screams this is s guy who we will have to replace one day no matter how good Mobley and Garland get.

8 man rotation. Team fades in the 2nd half. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

We have a bad coach, guys.

It's not the refs.

We get tired in the 2nd half.

Garland falls off a cliff every second half.
Garland played 12 minutes in the first half, so if he was tired tonight, that was on him, not coaching.

PHX is a team you have to score against. I don't believe Ed Davis or Denzel Valentine are going to cut it on the court against PHX.

really gotta wonder if Koby tries to make a move to upgrade the 2. It’s going to be a gap all year, really hate to see this team wind up 30-52 because they can’t score. They don’t really need another first rounder, I’m definitely trying to make something happen.

Did you read your last post?

Get off your high horse.

A post or two venting specific frustrations after a game is a totally different ballgame than constantly going after whatever possible thing in the moment you can latch onto not liking about the team. But you do you Rich, I’m not saying don’t post like that…I’m simply making a counter argument to the multiple things you’ve been saying about the team as a whole. If you want to see a high horse, look in the mirror bro.

That's one thing I sit back and realize how very good Ty Lue was with ATO plays.

Wish JBB can learn this

Money is always appreciated, but when people ask you to take it down a notch... it would be great if you learned how to read the room.

Tonight I had the Cavs losing after the first half. I have tremendous respect for the Suns, felt like they were the best team in the NBA last season. For the Cavs to basically outplay them and lose because of some questionable calls is okay by me.

No doubt they keep putting up a good fight. It does get frustrating when the other team seems to come back and beat the Cavs in the 2nd half every single game. The Warriors, Nets, and Suns are all good squads but it feels a bit like Lucy pulling the football every time..We keep seeing the same basic script over and over.

Also the officiating is beyond horrific. One of my friends swears the NBA is scripted and it's actually a believable concept if you just keep your eyes on how these games are officiated. I can't believe these are supposedly the best refs in the world.

Point taken. If you really do believe the words that you're posting and are really that negative then I'm sorry. I assumed you were trolling and I wish you could enjoy this team more my man.

We've had some shitty years recently and all of us who stuck through them deserve some happiness from this team, and I for one am enjoying every last bit of promise these young men have shown. Losing five in a row sucks ass. But I've never enjoyed a young up and coming team as much as this one. I really hope you can find a way to enjoy this season because next year, expectations will rise and we won't be playing with house money again.

That's fine. And I appreciate the more.competitive nature of the team.

But the ceiling has been raised because of what Mobley appears to be already.

The coach is going to hold them back THIS year. If Mobley didn't already look like an all NBA defensive player who turns this team from a bottom 10 defense into a top 10 one, OK.

But he is. And we can actually do real damage in the postseason....with a different coach.

He lost this game. He lost the Washington game.

Team has played without a doubt the hardest schedule to this point in the entire association, has done so getting 3/19 games with their full rotation, and are somehow 9-10, in every game regardless of personnel even against the leagues best teams, and with a weak Orlando team coming to town after 2 days off have a chance to go 10-10 with an early season schedule even the biggest Cavs homer wouldn’t have guessed they would be at looking at the first 20 games before the season started.

Like, what the fuck did some of you people expect to see from this team this year after what we’ve seen the last 3 for you to be the biggest sad sap sacks of shit about the current state of this team?

Watchable basketball with more consistent winning opportunities is such a big improvement over the previous 3 seasons yet here we still bitch.

Seriously, what were your expectations after what we have seen the last 3 years.
