Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #20 | Magic @ Cavs | Nov. 27, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
An ugly win over a bad team. The bench crew was poor tonight. Starters were alright mostly.

Lauri seems like he’s getting back to where he was pre injury. 20/5 4/8 from 3. Very solid.

About time for a win. Everyone did their job, no point in focussing too much on numbers when the result is a win

Mobley using more strength in the post and flashing a three point shot. He's going to be an absolute monster after the offseason.

I'm thinking ahead to like....year 4/5..when he really starts to fill into his frame ...but keeps the quickness...My goodness....

Nah that was a good, solid win.

There was nothing ugly about it.

The offense stalls out at times but that's just the roster atm.

At no point were the Magic a threat to win that game.

EDIT: It really did feel a bit like the first BKN game we played. Like..the score got somewhat close at points but BKN never felt threatened. Felt like that.

That's a good sign imo. Doesn't mean these types of teams still can't win. Houston just beat Chicago and Charlotte back to back. So you can still lose to anyone on a given night.

But there are now multiple teams that we have enough of a gap over that if we just played a solid game they can't beat us 99% of the time. (the 1% is because it's the NBA and any team, on any night, can get scorched earth hot).

That was a win that never felt in doubt against a team where that should be the case. We didn’t have those last year… that’s a true sign of the talent we have on the floor and this teams ability to put a lid on the rim against lesser opponents.

Fun group - glad they’re getting healthy. Lauri hitting his threes can take this unit places offensively…

Mobley returns...

Not a great shooting night. 5-12. Little rusty.

But still

13p(2 beautiful corner threes a couple great backdown hooks and a money turnaround jumper)
9reb
4ast
4blk

ROTY

Garland with 26p10A

Jarrett Allen- 19p11R3Ast

Lauri Markannen with 20/5. 4-8 from 3. Big to get that from him. Praying that his three ball is going to start coming alive finally.

Man, Mobley dropped an absolute dime to a cutting Okoro between 2 defenders giving him a lightly contested layup/dunk at the rim that he cinder blocked up there and it was making me look like that dog in the gif where they’re showing him cupcakes and he’s experiencing ‘Nam flashbacks, but instead of ‘Nam it’s Bron to David Wesley lowlights.

Good game.

I’m loving this team.

Really need an upgrade at SG though. Someone that can actually shoot. I like Okoro coming off the bench as an energy guy before Sexton unfortunately went down.

I love DG’a game.

I looooove the big 3. Mobley, Lauri and JA. I think they compliment each other well.

Cedi kinda was meh.

Rubio can dish it. His shot was a little off.

Cavs win!

I'm thinking ahead to like....year 4/5..when he really starts to fill into his frame ...but keeps the quickness...My goodness....
There will be a reason to watch the all-star game again in the future :chuckle:

Lauri had a really nice game. Finally got those 3s to drop.

No double digit win in this league is UGLY IMO. I dont even think it looked "ugly".

Solid win over a bad team. Took care of bidness. Onto the next one. Back to .500.

This Orlando team is straight ass. We needed to blow them away. We would do that if our bench didn't shoot 6 out of 26. We need better effort in the upcoming games.

Markkanen's natural position may be the 3?

I don't he think looks that overexposed on defense guarding wings as opposed to bigs. Allen and Mobley do cover for him too.

Offense is a perfect fit when he's hitting his open threes.
