Windler didn’t play because we were facing a bunch of physical players and this was a junkyard dog game.

We did five weeks of training camp designing an offense with Garland, Rubio, and Sexton as creators and scorers. By 1/3 into the season, we were down Rubio and Sexton. And probably lacking more than any other teams in the league of wings with any play making ability.

Now losing pretty much the one space creator we had that could also play at least passable defense.

Which means Garland and the bigs will be just absolutely blitzed.

it’s not something any team/staff would be able to adjust from in a game or two given the lack of in season practices.

Either some players step up beyond their realistic expectation level or we are going to struggle to win until we add some talent back(Markannen/Rondo) and bring some talent in(trades)

Bad excuse. Windler is a junkyard dog himself low key. He rebounds like a motherfucker, generally protects the ball…he’s a smart basketball player.
 
We never had a deep bench, but we had two legitimate sixth manic the year candidates at one point. Losing Rubio took the entire second unit down with it. We really need a move.

Windler makes a lot of tough guy rebounding motion when grabbing rebounds with no one around him. I would not call him a junk yard dog. And I’m not going to take his rebounding numbers while at Belmont as some sort of indicator he can do that in the NBA

Have also seen make plenty of turnovers himself

Now I am not against giving him some more minutes, especially with Markannen now, but up until now, I think the outcry for his not playing more is overblown.
Would love to see him make me look stupid over a multiple week sample Zoe’s, if he gets one

Opponents DRtg league ranking currently in the games since he went down:

Started off incredibly easy for the 1st 7 games, then they played 6 essentially league average defenses.

Cavs put up a 110.3 ORtg in the first 7 games with no Rubio against mostly bad defenses, then have put up a 111.4 ORtg in the last 6 games against pretty much nothing but league average defenses.
