Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #70 | Nuggets @ Cavs | March 18, 2022 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Levert was supposed to address this problem to at least some degree. More than he has so far

Nah, thats the thing. LeVert is not a backup point guard! Hes not a guy who runs an offense!

He is a two way slasher/scorer. He's at his best as a second or third scoring option on a talented unit. Pick your poison. Thats why youve seen him succeed with these closing units but struggle with our bench. No targets and no spacing and nobody to take off any pressure from him. He is a totally different answer to the problems that losing Rubio brought on. The Cavs definitely made the LeVert trade with an eye to the future moreso than "winning now" but also knew he could help Garland out a lot right now. He helps Garland when theyre on the floor together, not by replacing him off the floor.

Another incredible come-from-behind win!

The Cavs gave up 63 points in the first half but only 44 in the second. They really dug deep. I'm sure JBB lit into them at halftime about the defense.

This is the Lauri Markkanen we've been waiting for. He is really coming out of his shell. 31/10/3 with 4 steals and he was banging on Jokic for 38 minutes. Give him the Junkyard Dog Award. He was a team high +21. The Cavs were -18 in the 11 minutes he was on the bench.

Garland and Mobley were awesome. Garland had only 2 turnovers in 45 minutes but he missed two free throws in regulation.

LeVert had a bad night but he got a huge offensive rebound and assist when it counted. He choked badly on two free throws with 54 seconds left that would have won the game in regulation.

Goodwin was awful - he was a -21 in 11 minutes. He also missed his only two free throws. Thanks to him being totally out of it Garland had to play 45 minutes and we have a game tomorrow. We really could have used Rondo tonight.

How good will this team be when Allen gets back? They beat Denver in OT and lost by 4 points to Philadelphia. They are playing some of the best teams in the NBA dead even without their starting center. Denver has won 14 of their last 18 before tonight.

And how about next year when they have Allen and Sexton?

Jokic is incredible. Once the Nuggets get Jamal Murray and Michael Porter, Jr back they will be almost impossible to beat.

OH. MY. GOODNESS!

I was all set to watch the OT when the baby started begging for food, AND then soiled his diaper during the feed, so I missed the whole freaking OT. Had to lecture the little dude about interfering with Mommy's basketball ;) But VERY glad to find out we pulled out an OT win against a quality squad like the Nuggets! With this, and my dude Russell Westbrook saving the night and giving the Raptors an L (MORATORIUM ON DISSING HIM FOR AWHILE PLZ), I'm super happy! Just wish I could have seen more of it. Baby was just too much of a handful tonight, and husband was too exhausted to stay up further to help.
I got the reply of the OT posted.

I just watched the game. The team did not give up number of times today including the 4th and being down 5 in OT. That was the best game for Lauri offensively and defensively. He didn’t get some of the calls defensively but he played well enough against Jokic tonight. Love the strength and intensity offensively he showcased tonight.

LeVert was up to 29:23 tonight, so let's hope what Fedor said is correct and LeVert is back to full starter's minutes for the Lakers game Monday. Which should mean he's starting and playing mostly with the first unit. You and I butt heads on JBB plenty, but if LeVert remains a bench guy, I'll be pissed. He absolutely needs to be playing with Garland 75% of his minutes.

Wait. Am I reading basketball reference correctly?

Levert has only played 6 games for us so far?

That aint a whole lot of time to get acclimated to whatever our offense is.

Yep. Played first 4 games here post trade. Got injured. Missed 9 straight games. Tonight was his third game back since injury.

@PIP Give it to us. Give it to us now
