Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #74 | Bulls @ Cavs | March 26, 2022 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Commentators were pretty much spot on with this, Cavs just shot too many fast 3 pointers in the first half. No one was driving, they were settling for shots that were even remotely open.

I've found it funny that this team is so focused on taking 3s regardless of mismatches yet their defensive plan is to rotate off 3 point shooters. Also, we don't have a consistent shooter on this team anymore. Okoro might be the only consistent shooter, and he just has one spot, while taking like 2 a game.

Our starting lineup went 5/23 from 3 and Love was also 1/6 from 3. So those 6 players were 6/29. That's disgusting. Chicago wasn't much better but they took 10 less 3s. We have to be one of the worst shooting teams in the league now.

Cedi in those 6 minutes fucked us. I said some harsh shit during the game and now I’m kinda calmed I’m still happy with the team season and I know we still playing without Allen and sexton but damm I don’t understand we keep digging ourselves in a hole every game in the first half and then in the second half we play like a different team but it’s too late. Love needs to get his shit together I think he’s having some mental shit tbh he is bricking everything

The biggest adjustment we need to make is stop initiating our offense 25 feet from the basket! If Mobley isn’t going to consistently look to take a three pointer STOP bringing him out there!! His man isn’t even following him out there….he’s dropping back to the FT line clogging the key!

Defense is cooked without JA.
Offense is cooked for a number of reasons, coaching being part of it (no sets?). 1-17 stretch. WTF is this, man.
Altogether not enjoyable in the least.

I don't even care, man. Just get to 43-45 wins and pack it up.

Yeah I'm over this season after tonight. See what happens later.

The team was never ever the same after Rubio went down. Love and cedi were completely different guys playing with him. It's like you really lost 3 key rotation guys not just one when he got hurt.

They were able to hide the lack of a true sf more a good part of the season early on but with Allen and Mobley not together it becomes a much bigger issue because you can't hide Lauri as much on the defensive end.

The problem with Lavert is he is not a good spot up shooter, which you need on this team, and that he has to have the ball in his hands to be effective. He is pretty poor off the ball, or at least he has been since he came to cle. In this setting there is no way he is worth a huge contract.

Honestly would much rather have the lottery pick at this point if this is how they are going to play in a first round matchup. You still get two playoff games in the play in from the 7 seed...

This team needs a consistent knock down shooter who can also create his own shot! Clearly we do not have that type of player. And I have said it before until we get that type of player we are a “pretender”

Those guys are very hard to get in FA. You likely need to draft and develop that guy. Or you package sexton and Lavert and see if you can find that guy which fits the team's timeline.

I feel like we had a real opportunity at the trade deadline with Rubio’s expiring and our first round pick as a basis for a trade. But we might have blown it with Levert. Guys like CJ McCollum were available - he would be exactly what we need on the offensive end, knock down shooter, good passer, creates his own shot. although not a great defender.

LeVert almost won us the game lol. McCollum is super old and the price was much higher. The CAvs made a move they believe in long tern, not just for a couple months.

"There wasn’t the aggressiveness that was needed,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “We allowed them to keep pushing, pushing, pushing and at no point in that first half did we stand our ground and say enough is enough and push back."

That's where the game was lost. I noticed immediately how physical the Bulls were on defense and how the Cavs were unable to get good shots and had to keep forcing bad, contested shots with the clock expiring. The Bulls were easily fighting through the screens of Mobley and Markkenan. We definitely could have used Allen.

The Cavs won the second half 59-45. But they dug themselves too big a hole in the first half by not being prepared for the level of physicality the Bulls came out with. 16 points in the first quarter? Please.

Cedi was useless. JBB went to Windler instead and there was a big improvement. Garland and LeVert combined for 23 points in the 4th quarter and almost pulled it out.

There were so many missed opportunities. LeVert had an uncontested dunk and the ball slipped out of his hands. Markkanen had an uncontested dunk on a put-back and banged it off the rim. There's four points just on missed dunks. Not to mention six missed free throws by LeVert and Garland and 22 missed 3's in 26 shots by Garland, LeVert, Love, and Markkannen.

At this point I just want them to win one of the play-in games and get the experience of being in a playoff series. I didn't realize this, but each round of the playoffs is best of seven. So if the Cavs survive the play-in they will get at least four playoff games against the 1 or 2 seed and I assume two of the first four games will be at home. If Allen is back they could steal a win and get five games. That would be a valuable experience IMO.

Here’s my thing…Bickerstaff talks about physicality…in what universe did he expect us to be able to compete with the Bulls physically without Allen..he refuses to play our most physical guys like Davis and Brown.

Our bigs were Mobley—who tried but got in foul trouble because Vuc has 60 lbs on him…and then Mark who has been charmin soft as a big for years and Love who doesn’t contest anything and his only displays of physicality are taking charges. On the wing they have DeRozan, LaVine, Dosunmu, Caruso…we have Osman, Okoro, Steven’s., LeVert…Stevens brings physicality but his mental mistakes in big moments hurt us…Okoro brings it occasionally on a game by game basis and tonight he didn’t. He camped the corner all night and got crushed by Vuc over and over on screens, Levert has length but he’s not physical/strong…and Osman is soft and bad.

And Garland is a a finesse guy who competes but he won’t be able to overcome all the physicality we saw and a lot of the time he was going up against big wings like Dosunmu.

So we were never going to win physically. We needed to win mentally. We needed to put maneuver them. We needed to out smart them. Instead JBB just wants a rough and tumble grit and grind grizzlies team and that’s just not what he has at his disposal without Allen. Until Allen comes back. ADJUST!!!! Just ADJUST!!!

He turned back into a pumpkin. We got the Corpse of Kevin back. He needs to put those glass slippers back on and stop dickin around. Seems like yesterday when some of us stamped him down for the 6th man of the year award. Wtf were we thinking?

McCollum was REALLY expensive.

Like waaay more than a salary dump people thought he'd be.

I'd encourage those who wish we had CJ to really look at that trade and see what NO had to do to get him.
