Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@Lee is technically correct of course but absent injury LaMelo looks the part.

I do think LeMelo gets there, i agree he looks the part, my only issue is calling him a super star now, we throw that word around allot, there arent 40-50 super stars in the NBA and i think we here about that many get named.

Is Zion Williamson a super star? I think the jury is still out, i would even say my money is on LaMelo before Zion right now. (example that came to mind)

But neither is a super star. How about Jalyen Brown? Borderline, but not sure if there yet, but he is about as close as you get. My point is that is how good you have to be now or sustained years in the past to be a super star imo.

What? No he was taken in the 2020 draft with Okoro.

What am I missing?

He's literally played less than a full NBA season. 72 games last year, and now 8 this year.

I must be missing something here, though. He didn't sit a season due to injury. He was drafted last year.

My own definition of superstar = HoF level player. I think any player needs about 5 years in before they can be anointed a superstar unless it's someone who is close to MVP-level sooner than that. For example, I'd call Embiid a superstar but not Simmons (and that was before the playoffs last year). LeBron was a superstar very early of course.

Way, way to early to call LeMelo a future hall of famer though, not saying you are, just saying my original point is being validated, lol

You all are high. LaMelo is not just a hall of famer, but its a travesty he was left off the NBA top 75. I called it at the draft and I was correct. He is the GOAT.

I thought LaMelo was way too likely to bust and had him 2nd on my board...

LaMelo uses that off arm a lot. It's not subtle either. With guys Sexton and Garland's size, he's just shoving them out of the way.
