Game Thread | Game #22 | Sixers @ Cavs | Nov. 30, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Individual stats:

Starters:
Mitchell 18-3-6- with 2 steals and a block in 26 minutes 5-9 fg, 5-7 3pts super efficient.
Mobley 16-8-3 with a block in 24 minutes Another efficient game, plus great defense, as usual
Wade 6-5-2 with 3 steals and a block in 31 minutes Solid defender. Off shooting, but so what?
Garland 21-2-9 in 32 minutes 9-16 fg, 3-4 from 3. Great game.
Diakite 6-4-2 with a steal in 22 minutes. Get this man more minutes!

Bench: 46-18-6 in 33 minutes. Lovely to see the bench shine, especially, since the starters were good too.
LeVert 22-6-4 with a steal in 33 minutes. His best game since Boston. 8-11 FG, 3-4 from 3.
Okoro 11-5-2 with 2 steals in 22 minutes. Productive, good defense, 5-7 fg, 1-3 3 pt.
Osman 9-5-0 in 29 minutes
Lopez 4-2-0 in 14 minutes banging with Embiid. I think he got Embiid frustrated.
Neto 0-0-0 with a steal in 6 minutes

I won’t underrate how big of a difference Rubio could make. Mitchell was at his best with Rubio. Curious how JBB is going to handle four ballhandlers. Obviously Ricky‘s injury will lower his minutes this season. And hopefully next.
Love and Cedi were at their best with Rubio too.

He will be a really important piece and I’m glad the Cavs did a multi year deal with him

That assist from Spida to Garland.

One game after their worst shooting performance of the year the Cavs respond with possibly their best, hitting 61% overall and 52% on 3's against the league's #1 scoring defense. Really impressive, and they missed a lot of easy shots.

The starters, except for Diakite, were +20 to +24. The Sixers' starters, except for Embiid, were -26 to -30. Embiid, averaging 36 points in November, was held to 19 on just six field goals.

The Cavs' bench was impressive with 46 points, especially LeVert who had 22 on 8-for-11. Okoro was a +20 in 22 minutes.

Garland had a great game and Mobley had 16 points in the first half but none after intermission.

Overall it was a really nice win by 28 points against a team whose previous biggest loss was by 10. Obviously it helped that Maxey and Harden were out, but hey, we were missing Allen, Love, Stevens, and Rubio.

Diakite got the start and 23 minutes but did not impress. The box score only credited him with two turnovers but he had more than that. He has no ball handling skills, but he's 6'9", can jump, and can knock down open 3's. Something to work with but he's already 25 and in his third NBA season. Maybe they can make him into a useful 3-and-D guy by next year with a lot of work.

Glad the Cavs had this little run.

I was scared for some of our more fragile posters.

Had the Sixers gotten the lead under 20 some pre-melts and straight up melts were incoming.
HOO-boy. Glad they held on. I would have been super-dysphoric.

Bite your tongue! Mamadi is READY!

In an odd way, I think that Lopez is a better match up against Embiid than against allot of the other bigs. Embiid is athletic and highly skilled but he wont blow past Lopez, and worst that happens is he torches Lopez like he torches 90% of the league and we get Lopez's 6 fouls.

My point is I think Lopez is actually useful in this game.

Hey, i am right every now and then

Cavs postgame: First JBB, then Caris.

You’re acting like Diakite was a -20 ! He was +16. I felt he made important contributions in both of his last 2 games (not his fault he was inactive in the Toronto game). I felt his energy , ability to space the floor and jumping ability to defend the rim were all significant and more importantly, significantly better than RoLo’s (even though RoLo was infinitely more useful against Philly than against Toronto or just about anyone else, for that matter)
