Game Thread | Game #22 | Sixers @ Cavs | Nov. 30, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One game after their worst shooting performance of the year the Cavs respond with possibly their best, hitting 61% overall and 52% on 3's against the league's #1 scoring defense. Really impressive, and they missed a lot of easy shots.

The starters, except for Diakite, were +20 to +24. The Sixers' starters, except for Embiid, were -26 to -30. Embiid, averaging 36 points in November, was held to 19 on just six field goals.

The Cavs' bench was impressive with 46 points, especially LeVert who had 22 on 8-for-11. Okoro was a +20 in 22 minutes.

Garland had a great game and Mobley had 16 points in the first half but none after intermission.

Overall it was a really nice win by 28 points against a team whose previous biggest loss was by 10. Obviously it helped that Maxey and Harden were out, but hey, we were missing Allen, Love, Stevens, and Rubio.

Diakite got the start and 23 minutes but did not impress. The box score only credited him with two turnovers but he had more than that. He has no ball handling skills, but he's 6'9", can jump, and can knock down open 3's. Something to work with but he's already 25 and in his third NBA season. Maybe they can make him into a useful 3-and-D guy by next year with a lot of work.
Yeah your Diakite assessment is way off. He played great on both ends and had yet another well rounded game in limited minutes.

I wanna see them again with the Cavs killer Maxey to see how far we've come.
Yes because even though we blew them out we still have them TONS of wide open three looks….we were lucky they shot tonight like we did against the Raptors! Maxey isn’t going to miss those open three balls!

Mobley bro just dropped 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in the G-League for the Charge win.
Younger Mobley will develope well. Floor to me is a solid backup center
Diakite is a real find
Cooper is another interesting charge player

JBB did praise his defense after the game.

But he did commit two unforced turnovers (traveling and palming the ball) and was twice called for illegal defense (3 seconds). The good news is they can teach him not to hang out in the paint and draw a technical. They can work with him on his footwork. He apparently played good defense and was 2-for-4 on 3's, so that's a great start. Physically there's a lot to work with.

The first two teams that had him didn't bring him back for a second year. Maybe he's found a home here with a team that could really use a tall, athletic, bouncy player that can hit 3's, especially if Love doesn't return.

I read that in the off-season the Cavs were looking for tall, athletic players and Mama definitely fits the description. But he needs to spend extra time after practice working on his footwork and handles. I actually thought he traveled on his second corner 3 but they let it go.

Maybe with a couple of years of intensive coaching we can turn him into the next Pascal Siakam. Or Siakam Lite.

Regarding defensive 3 seconds, I swear the Cavs are purposely doing this to see if refs will call it this season.

Well, lookie here: the Cavs have THREE plays on the top 10 NBA plays of the night. Who's involved? Where are they rated?

We're getting noticed.

Yes but two of them involved 0k0r0 dunks, which should be removed from consideration.
