Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Happy we got that win the way we did, because I was reading some bad body language.

Too much 1x1 with Darius and Mitchell. The end of the 1st half, from about 2:30 on, they were the only two to touch the ball. Some definite side eye activity.

At the foul line, Jarrett was stood up from some daps, and shook his head/rolled eyes in obvious irritation - Mobley may not have seen it, but his reaction was a bit strong for it being an innocent miss.

I dunno - I'm keen on watching body language, when players are in slumps, how they interact on the court, etc. One peeve of mine is rarely do guys run over to help Mitchell up off the ground. Many times, he pops up immediately, but always a good sign when you see 2 or 3 guys hustle towards him to assist - which is rare for him for some reason.
Mitchell definitely has stretches on offense when he goes into tunnel vision mode. I guess that is part of being 'The Man'.

There was a play in the first quarter when Mobley set a pick for DM at the foul line extended, rolled to the basket, got wide
open and never got a glimpse from DM. EM did look a bit disappointed.

But from the cheap seats, it is hard to see bad vibes among the Cavs.

That was good grit and grind game that should imitate what the playoffs feel like. Good to see guys coming through for their teammates like DG, Rubio, and JA [the first half] that had rough nights. JA turned it on in the second half, but Mobley kept the team afloat.

DG didn't finish on that final possession, but he was a big part of that turnover sequence: caught Bridges' turnover to Claxton, rushed down the floor, hit a side pass to Mitchell for a pull-up that brought them within two, and then he and Mitchell executed a perfect trap on DFS that led to another turnover that got Mitchell to the line.

Then Okoro and LeVert just played their roles. Okoro ran to the weakside to spot-up when LeVert got possession and LeVert just made a play.

This is fine, but I don't think the Cavs can get to their final form without Mitchell weaponizing his playmaking

The 8 game win streak to start the year was partially because when Mitchell is making plays he is unstoppable.

It's my opinion, but I think he is more dangerous playing within the offense rather than being the offense.

It’s funny because that’s what stood out to me the night he scored 71 points as well, how good his playmaking was and he wasn’t forcing shots. That was a game Garland didn’t play as well. I think Mitchell feels like when Garland or Rubio is in the game he can just focus on scoring, but it makes him more one-dimensional than the guy who can kill you in a bunch of different ways.

Hell, Mitchell can learn a thing or two from LeVert, who completely changed his game for the better from a tunnel vision mid-range shooter, to a versatile playmaker and pesky defender.

Yes, he should play the whole game instead of just a scoring role. I think he does it consciously, but doesn't realize if he plays the way he is capable of a playmaker, he won't have to take many hero shots. Just make all the good shots you get and realize someone is wide open when they are converging on you
