Game Thread | Game #80 | Cavs @ Magic | April 4, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Third seed still possible right? Sixers lose tonight and Cavs are only 1.5 games out.
Only if we win our last two games and the Sixers lose tonight and their remaining three. So not worth even thinking about.

Hey - I had just finished watching the Guardians win in 10 innings and was on my way out the door. Just goes to show you can't rush great art.

But thanks for catching that - I fixed it.
I was just joking around - love your game threads and accompanying write-ups! Even the ones with mistapes ;)

Look you seem to be JBBs biggest supporter possibly a family member, but trailing and erroring simple out of bounds plays 80 games into a season isn't something that screams confidence about the future. I won't even get started on his bizarre rotations, the doghouse/emasculation of bench, The Love situation. And the lack of any kind set plays or offensive scheme. Your entitled to your opinion, but most of this board can see with with their own two eyes, he ain't it. Hell even our puff piece local media started turning on him shortly after the New Year. Happy for the 50 good night everyone! Go Cavs!

His bench is treated not much differently than any other teams. Are you under the false impression that all 15 guys play on other teams? Or that other teams don’t have guys who move in and out of the rotation over the course of the season.

If you thing we run no set plays or actions then you’ve been fooled to worship Hoosiers and some college besketball. If you think a motion offense is the best suited offense for this current roster, I don’t know what to tell you

ATO’s and In Bound plays are indisputably poor and need improvement in a huge way.

I truly don’t give a shit if JBB is the coach next year or not. My issue is how people perceive and judge coaching in the first place, in such a reactionary over simplistic good guys/bad guys way.

Cavs only had 2 turnovers in the first three quarters

5 of their 6 fourth quarter turnovers were before that hectic final 90 seconds and many of them were just careless, unforced error passes by DG, Donovan, and LeVert

That’s a player thing and they need to balance the desire to make a highlight pass with the need to value every single 4th quarter possession.

Lost a bit in the hissyfit:

Another great game by Caris, hitting 5 threes

Mobley now with ZERO turnovers in 5 of his last 6 games. Just 9 turnovers in the last 12 games. 27 blocks in those same 12 games.

We’re gonna have a bad coaching disadvantage in every round of the playoffs if we even make it past the Knicks which I’m 50/50 or 60/40 Knicks winning the series

Recent slump aside, why would any team in their right mind do this?

I'm not saying they should, ordinarily. But there are games where you can tell he's afraid to shoot even open 3s. When that happens (like tonight), there's not a whole lot a coach can do to open up the offense. Mobley, Allen, Rubio, Stevens, Wade - teams will be happy to let them either shoot or dribble, preferably both.

I don’t think he can take much credit after going 1-5 from 3, but the weird “Dean Wade plays 20 minutes and we win” is now up to 18-5 this year.
