Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yes the questionable coaching comes in from allowing our guards to do what they want and I think it sets the team back.

My point is if the best players played like that they’d be even better as a team. Like maybe go a long ways in the playoffs. Pretty simple idea.

Team got a lot of assists against an Orlando team playing scrubs who didn’t give a shit about defense. RoLo (!) got three assists. The only players with fewer than that all scored in double figures - with one exception.

Knicks and Bucks will be playing serious defense. Changing our offense for the playoffs is neither simple nor desirable. Whoever starts at the 3 is not a decent offensive option and won’t see much of the ball.

So good coaching would restrict what Mitchell and Garland can do?

ANY NBA coach that would be so foolish as to restrict a top talent like Mitchell would be Westheaded to the unemployment line. This isn’t high school or college where coaches have the power - ask “Slugs” Beilein.

I dunno I'd argue Mitchell was an MVP candidate when he was being a playmaker/scorer while Darius was out and is simply an allstar when he puts his head down to score. He is more dangerous when he plays a complete game, but he doesn't do it much with Darius on the court

He did score 71 and added 11 assists leading to 28 points to give him 99 points scored or assisted in total when Garland was out. Naturally he’ll have fewer assists when playing the 2 and Garland plays 1. But the team did average 25 assists per game this season which isn’t that far under the 31 assists against Orlando.

Donovan needs to score because we have a bunch of non scorers in the rotation.

Ball movement. Get Mitchell open looks from moving the ball. Him and garland driving for 10 seconds to throw up some junk ain’t it.

I think he is less predictable when he is playmaking more. Garland is great in catch and shoots too
