25 years ago Gary Larson retired from his The Far Side comic, at the ripe old age of 44! He retired because he didn't want to get repetitive. He was random, irreverent, bizarre, surreal, sometimes rather dark humored, and damn fucking funny. He has seemingly returned on his website, after getting into digital media. He made a lot of my childhood fun, me and my father would look forward to reading his comic in the paper, and loved reading the book collections. Really looking forward to seeing what he has to add during this shitty times.

My brother, Dad, and I had pretty much everything he published. His comics had very few duds. Such a funny guy.

One of my favorite things was always listening to my dad try to explain the comics to other people like he was telling a story or something. "You had this yard in front of a house. It's fenced in, and you see this heavy-set guy hiding behind a tree. There's a sign in the yard that says, 'Beware of Doug'! Get it? Hahaha. You think the sign is going to have Beware of Dog on it, but it's says Doug! That guy behind the tree's name is Doug!"
