Genard Avery: A Poor Man’s Khalil Mack

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was able to get in touch with Genard through his representation, as Michael Reghi and him share the same agent.

Genard is pleased with this thread and is also a fan of the new colors. He also feels that @sportscoach really ripped @The Wizard of Moz off in the Amazon Gift Card thread and expects him to make good as soon as possible or he’s going to tank 4-5 downs a game.

Moving past all of this, where are we on the Bagel Mayfield stuff?

Thread Bump - Avery has essentially jumped Jamie Collins and become the de facto starting outside linebacker. I think his best fit is as a weakside linebacker with Kirksey moving into strongside linebacker. Obviously this is a position that will be addressed either through trade, draft, free agency, or a combination... but let's recognize how awesome it is that a 5th round pick made Collins and his contract expendable.

Not sure that is the whole story. Collins lack of playing with passion made him expendable, or more specific needed to be replaced.

What is awesome is a 5th round pick in year 2 because of his on field production will be given the chance to replace Collins as the starter, if not the actual favorite.
