Getting Rid of Cable- What am I missing?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sling lost Fox Sports Regional channels last summer and never got them back.

Yep and Fubo decide to get rid of it all together. At&t tv now moved it up to their $80 package. PS Vue shutting down killed another option. It's now Hulu live or go back to traditional cable, at least for the moment.

Sinclair did just sign a partnership agreement with some backend streaming company. I also think the NBA will follow suit with the MLB and get rid of blackout rules for streaming so they can sell league pass or single team league pass to people in their home teams region.

Edit: I guess the reports of the MLB getting rid of blackout rules for streaming in market games was wrong. They misinterpreted teams getting back streaming right from the RSNs when they were actually getting the rights from the league. It doesn't change the current contracts they have with the RSNs but the teams can change it in future negotiations with the RSNs.

Seems like Fox Sports Ohio and STO will stay on YouTube tv. No official confirmation though from YouTube tv. It seems like they will drop the yes network, fox sports prime ticket, and fox sports west. It's an interesting play by YouTube to basically say they don't think the Yankees and all the LA teams are worth the fees. They also haven't picked up Marquee network for the Cubs. That's RSNs for the 3 biggest markets in the country but all each of those cities have very segmented fans bases for each team and alot of transplants. I would love to see the numbers for how many of those subscribers watch each of those teams or networks in those markets.

Edit: Confirmation from Sinclair on which RSNs will stay

Works for me. My youtubeTV is free, and really didn't want to have to pay for cable. If I've got my FSOhio, I'm happy.

Just make sure your zip code is still covered by YouTube tv for Fox Sports Ohio. I think some of the markets that use to get multiple Fox regional sports networks from different cities got one of them cut off. People on Twitter are saying Toledo doesn't get FSO now. Same goes with some people in Indy and Louisville, Ky who apparently would get FSO too.

I'm good. I'm just south of Canton and FSN worked just fine last night. Although I had a little buffering issues, but I blame that on shitty spectrum internet.

Switched to At&t's watch TV and put YouTube tv on pause because there is no sports on. $15 a month for one stream but has the news networks I watch and the cable networks that are putting out content. No DVR and the on demand is really lacking, almost no existent. The login for tv network apps don't give you that content either. Really it's a live TV option for cutting the cord. Hulu having FX's tv shows now the day after makes the switch easier.

Also it doesn't support Roku or any smart TVs. Just Amazon fire stick, Apple TV, and Chromecast.

Alright they raised the price of YouTubeTV again. What the hell do I move to now? I’ve tried sling and I didn’t like it, granted that was a few years ago now.

I need it for sports including:
Baseball, soccer, golf, football, hockey.

They raised it, but added some Viacom channels to it, though whether it's worth the extra is another story. If they just would've added History channel I could've dropped Philo too.

I finally cut the cord last month. We went to FuboTV. I’m only into football, baseball, and basketball mostly but maybe check it out if you haven’t. They have NFLN, Fox, FS1 and 2, bunch of other shit and a lot of niche channels too (Big Ten network for my Buckeyes)

They also just announced they finally got a deal with Disney so ESPN and all that jazz is coming in August.

Unfortunately they couldnt renew the deal with Turner so losing TNT and TBS which could affect some NBA and MLB viewing.

Actually, with the Disney addition I think it’s going to be $60 so similar to YouTube TV so that wont help you. See to me thats a steal. Spectrum was trying to charge me like $230 (including internet which we are still being ripped off on) but even with the price raise of Fubo we save $100 a month.

I’ll have to check out fubo. Yeah Big Ten is a must for me as well. I’ll probably just hold on to it for now since fubo doesn’t have TNT or TBS.

cut the cord 2 weeks ago, and have 0 plans to sign up for anything until sports come back.

until then ill save my money.

Meh, sort of feels like its back to me getting a better deal arguing with the cable company every year or so, then doing internet via the cable company and paying the OTT providers... who have now raised their prices in such a way the deal ain't much of a deal anymore.

From experience and other knowledge, Spectrum will not give promotional rates to anyone except new customers. Must be 31 days between cancellation and new service before you are considered a new customer and able to get deals. Unfortunately my internet is ridiculously overpriced and I have no viable alternatives.

Ive also not have any cable or cable like streaming services in 2 months. I was going to add back YouTube tv when the NBA came back but I might just go to Sling Orange.
