So the 118-110 judge was Adelaide Byrd. She apparently has a long history of having very bizarre scorecards in both boxing and MMA. Top Rank has tried to have her removed from their high profile fights.

A lot of people said going into the fight that the only chance GGG had was to win by knockout with Byrd and Moretti as judges. Lot of pre-fight jokes about Byrd and Moretti already having the fight scored 118-110 for Canelo.
I bet big on Canelo for that reason. Shit fight outcome but we all knew this was going to happen.

Good, competitive fight.

I had GGG winning 8 rounds to 4, but it wasn't a rout. That scorecard by Byrd is absolutely nuts.

Will just echo the 8-4 for GGG cards. Maybe 7-5. Even scoring a draw would be absurd.

Adelaide Byrd. LO mothereffing L.

Love this sport, hate the politics and corruption. Effing A. Golovkin robbed hard.

GGG classy in post fight interviews. Canelo seems like a smug a-hole.

Now De La Hoya and Canelo want to "think about" possible rematch. No surprise... Not in Alvarez's best interest to risk a rematch loss if legit judges are selected. Oscar is gonna protect his golden goose, who is just entering his prime.

It's not like Canelo looked bad in this fight. He caught GGG with some strong blows. Perhaps it was disheartening that GGG took them and kept coming forward. GGG was most definitely the aggressor for the majority of this fight. It would really look bad on Golden Boy if they didn't run this one back though.

If I'm Golovkin, I see no need to run it back. He clearly won, everyone knows he won, and he has his belts. Go beat Billy Joe Saunders ass and take his belt and do something else.

This dude's chin is effing dragon glass. My God.

The obvious answer as to why he'd run it back is money. Lots and lots of money.

GGG's purse was just 2.5M against Jacobs and with his PPV cut, he's rumored to have made 15M this weekend.

Canelo's a bad dude. I just don't care for him. Vicious counter puncher and a couple shots that GGG took would have induced fight-altering damage to less steel-jawed opponents. Maybe Oscar prefers this route.

I do think the rematch will happen because the money and build up will be much greater than the first. Unfortunately, GGG isn't getting any younger.
