Be that as it may, a 25 year old end-of-bencher who just got sent down to the G League because he couldn't hack it on an NBA roster isn't suddenly going to get meaningful minutes in the big league. He's trending in the wrong direction anyway. He may NEVER get those minutes again.

People need to understand that JBB obviously considers the guy totally unplayable.

Sure. I mean he was Beilein's pick. I think without him, the front office takes Keldon Johnson. Beilein is long gone, but his decision to run the team beyond exhaustion that broke Windler's leg caused him to lose 2 crucial years of development where he would have been allowed to make mistakes and get up to NBA speed.

I personally don't think he has played sufficent minutes for the game to have even slowed down for him. I'd guess Mobley has played more NBA minutes than WIndler. I checked it's like 20 more minutes for Mobley. Most of those for Windler have been garbage

So, I'd ask the question. When has he been given the chance?

Windler looked fantastic before this season when healthy in his limited minutes. He was the perfect energy guy off the bench, pesky defender, sharpshooter, keeps the ball moving, good rebounder, gets his hands in passing lanes.

Don't know what is going on with him now. But I think it's too soon to give up on him whether it's mental or an injury or combination of the two.

The best things for Windler would be to get thrown into a trade so he has a chance to start over somewhere new. As Heat Check rightly points out, he's not getting any time from JBB. JBB (like all coaches) has a type and Windler ain't it. I think he has some ability and can play a role in the right system and getting himself in the right head space - but he isn't getting either of those with the Cavs. He has a year and a half to prove he's worthy of another contract, it would be in his best interest to spend that time with another organization.

Windler tonite with 19 points , 7 rebounds 4-8. From 3

I don't get it.. kid moves the ball, moves his body constantly, goes after the rebounds, sticks his nose in defensively and he has a stroke that always looks good. I'm always for making a guy earn his burn, but are seriously saying Denzel Valentine is showing better at practice than Windler has been?

That's not good for anyone in the organization.

Denzel Valentine is Drew Gooden if Drew was a wing that never made the leap to playable.

I think Darnell Valentine could take Denzel Valentine RIGHT NOW !!!!

Reading between the lines: Windler is not happy about his lack of PT and has complained.

I think he’s basically done here.
