Joe Harris is a decent comp. Coach on the floor type. Scrappy and more athletic than you think. Has a chance to grow into a solid piece and his range is elite

I know its just highlights but his shooting is unreal

Harris is less of a string bean physically and so I think had better defensive potential than Windler (Harris is about 25 pounds heavier and a little shorter). But in college Harris definitely didn't seem like as much of a magician shooting off the dribble as Windler looks like now...

Harris had better defensive potential, how?

Winder has 6'11 wingspan, grabs 13 rebs and 1.9 steals. To me he looks more versatile.

Offensively he almost looks like a taller Luke Kennard lol.

Harris is physically stronger. Windler does look like he can be pushed around defensively. Lack of strength seems to be his biggest drawback physically.

Trick is going to be adding strength without costing him speed/quickness. But if he does that...he could end up being really good.

It will be interesting to watch the careers of Windler and Keldon Johnson, who went 29th to the Spurs, as there was apparently some indecision from the Cavs on which guy to take.

Joe Ingles and not just cause he’s left handed. Really strong handle for a 2G/SF and can create separation on a step back jumper.

Not a fan of the Korver comparison. Korver can’t dribble Or finish in traffic. Dylan has much more athletic ability. Not sure he will be the lite shooter of Korver coming off a screen, but he’s going to create a lot more from the wing.

I’m excited about him.
I don't like comparing players who haven't played in the league yet anyway, but the Cavs need a shooter and they got one.

I would have preferred Keldon but then i saw vision of Windler's shooting.. either way just happy the cavs were clearly targeting shooting after last off season which was the complete opposite

Windler is getting compared to Luke Jackson because both are white, lefty, athletic small forwards. There will be much less pressure on Windler as a late first round pick. Keldon probably has more natural talent. However, Windler is a self-made player and a grinder, which we need.

Jeez.. his ability to shoot off the dribble..
Will he be a le to bulk up and play the 4?
Can he play the 2?

He's clearly got NBA range. He can rebound. I think with some more muscle he could play 4 or play 3. He's got a wingspan like Grant Williams and I think Williams can play the 4. Windler just would need to add some bulk. Can he? An extra 20 pounds would get him there at the 4 I think.

Be interesting to see how well he moves because he might also be able to be a big 2. A NBA strength and conditioning program would be great for him.

His more interesting path is filling out over the next 24 months, assuming he can naturally carry the weight.

If his frame fills out a bit more, he'd be devastating offensively at the 4. There just are not enough NBA PF's that could guard him off screens and off the dribble. And his dribbling goes from solid/good at the 3, to really good at the 4.

2 is stretching it. In spots on offense, sure but he's not dynamic enough with the ball to break down 2's. I think he's a good secondary offensive player at the 3, could be a great secondary offensive player at the 4 and then can provide spacing in late game dead ball situations as a big 2.

Multiple people are suggesting he’s a better Kyle Korver.

So you’re pretty confident the Cavs late first rounder is going to be better than one of the greatest shooters of all time without him having hit the floor?

Let’s stick with Joe Ingles or a lesser Gordon Hayward.

I was thinking Michael Jordan with Kyries handles, lebrons stature, Dennis Rodman’s rebounding ability, Ron artests defensive abilities and some Kobe, but better then all of them.
