As we're sitting at pick #50 and I doubt the Cavaliers are going to buy their way back in, time to grade the draft!

Giving it a B+: here's my reasoning

- Garland projects to be a great PG, but his fit with Sexton is questionable and we're going to have to end up trading one of the two, which makes one of the picks a waste in the long run.
- I love Windler, think he's a great pick, even at 26.
- Porter is a good gamble. He's got injury and character issues, but if he pans out, that's a top-10 talent that we got at #30.

With the NBA prioritizing length and switchability, the cavs have one of the shortest backcourt in garland and sexton. Love the garland pick if not for sexton. Hopefully they can co exist and learn to defend.

IMO a
Sexton/culver/cedi/love/z with a bench of
Delly/porter/windler/nance/tt is a more balanced lineup than
Garland/sexton/cedi/love/z. But thats just me. Yey! Go cavs!

Pleased what we did today. Very excited for summer league.

I’d say C+.

Garland is somewhat of an unknown but just dislike his profile.

Windler I like.

Porter is just a Hail Mary. All my stuff hates him, on par with how much it hates Reddish. :chuckle: Worth a flier for the cost.

The thing I fail to see is what the hell we are doing with our guards? Garland, Sexton, Porter.....what about these 3 guys makes any sense together? I get Windler as a spacer / complimentary scorer but the other 3 guys just seem like miserable fits together. Who is going to pass Windler the ball? Or anyone else?

This cements Sexton as a 6th man. Which tbh if he stops developing, then that's what he'll end up being. His issues maybe too difficult to overcome, regardless of his crazy worth ethic.

I feel more comfortable with Sexton abusing backup point guards and he probably won't be exploited as much on defense.

If Sexton accepts this role, this kid will come away with some 6moty awards and would put up numbers similar to Lou Williams. Either that or he doesn't accept it and gets traded.

A+

Darius Garland is a special talent at PG. His handles and shooting ability are both top notch.
Dylan Windler is a floor spacer and underrated defender and nice rebounder. People questioning the competition. He was lighting up the same teams Ja Morant was. So if he sucks cause of the competition he was playing I guess Ja does too.
Kevin Porter Jr. I like Porter. Saw someone say hes the best iso player in the draft. Questionable fit long term with Sexton and Garland. All 3 like to get their buckets. But I think Beilein can make it work.

I went C- for basically the reasons discussed in your last paragraph.

A+

Garland most definitely had the best draft day outfit on..
Windlers haircut is just too clean..
Kevin Porter Jr. His name screams "star"..

Can't go wrong here, fellas.

B+
I liked Garland..I did like Culver , would have taken on Hunter but LA/Atlanta nixed that.
I have seen Garland one time...something will happen , as I'm not one who is in the ''Trade Sexton" mode until I see how this pans out.
Hope they made the right choice with Windler being a shooter.
One additional thing that has always bothered me with the Cavs is when they get a shooter, they never are patient to see if he develops and then they trade him away.
Granted some of them were not good, but a few were worth keeping.
The Porter pick is going to take patience also, this kid needs a healthy structure to mold him.
