Guardians find new minority owner

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This was from The Athletic's Jason Lloyd two weeks ago:

What is the latest on David Blitzer? — Andrew L.

Nothing is official, but all of the conversations I had during spring training seemed to indicate things are still trending in that direction. The team is counting on Blitzer’s real estate savvy to aid in areas outside the stadium once he’s part of the organization. Until I hear otherwise, I expect the deal to eventually close, hopefully at some point this season.

I bet Josh Donaldson would chuckle at this one….

No biggie, just makes it easier to understand things is all.
That guy's blog is as legit as there is for Cleveland development news. Had the Sherwin Williams new downtown HQ building before anyone. Think he does it as a hobby, but he's excellent. Just FWIW for anyone who isn't familiar with him and sees the blog and wonders WTF would I believe this guy.

Good time to be buying stake in the Guardians. The organization is as healthy as ever and probably won't require much investment to make it a legitimate contender. Jose is already extended and I'm not so sure that any of the current SP need to be offered extensions at this time. A trade for a big bat could spike attendance or at least get it heading in the right direction. It will be interesting to see if Blitzer's involvement will alter the organization's philosophy. Either way the future looks very good for us Guardian fans.

Still happening last I heard.

Chelsea isn’t being sold to him and his group, sale already was approved to a different group. Broncos sound like they’ll be sold to a Walton too.

Our guy is trying to buy another soccer team last I heard, small one.

When you say small soccer team like all the players are 5 feet and under?

Can someone more educated on David Blitzer explain to me why it's a good thing that a guy who has his pen dipped in half a dozen sports leagues is on track to become the next owner to the Cleveland Guardians? Is this guy actually going to give a shit about the team, or is this 100% investment motivated?

Minority owner.

No control, just a cash influx and gets to use the owner's box, owners meeting and go anywhere he wants at the facilities when in Cleveland.

He might not give a fuck about the Guardians, but that is fine with a minority owner, he is just cash. Basically he is the Guardians Sugar Daddy like I am @sportscoach 's Sugar Daddy.

Yeah but he's being penned as the eventual majority owner
