Guardians find new minority owner

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And your posts are fascinating.Seems like all you do is whine about other posters.
Maybe he’s afraid you are secretly pining to have the Guardians relocate to Portland.

As Dolan checked those items off his task list last summer, he ramped up his efforts to land a new business partner. He provided ballpark tours for several interested parties, and he engaged in what he described as “meaningful discussions” with Blitzer as the year unfolded. Any agreement was bound to include an eventual transfer of power, according to several sources with knowledge of the negotiations. Sherman also had a path to majority ownership etched into his pact, though his came without a specific timeline and instead was left up to Dolan’s discretion, sources said.

So, what are peoples long term opinions on this Blitzer Group announcement? Indians are kinda locked into the city for over a decade now, but do people have the impression this group is invested in Cleveland as well as the Guardians? Given the group’s investments in a number of sports franchises, is there concern about true investment in the team? Does the local guy’s involvement help with the above two questions?

Rumors are Blitzer intends to create a ballpark village with new build such as apartment tower with entertainment options. The team just exercised their option for one of the properties the city owns that they can buy.

And isn’t it locked in for 15 years plus 2 options of 5 years each that the city owns. So like 24 years guaranteed

Minority owners rarely have much say in anything. So I doubt his involvement means anything.

Lol he already has quite a bit of stock in the team and is going to be the majority owner by the end of the decade...

I was referring to the local guy who has a minority stake. matt kahlig. I don’t think his involvement will mean anything.

Monetarily, not much.

Relationship with the city? Him being a part of the future majority ownership group should be very telling for fans on the future of the franchise…

Kulig is an Akron Grad and has been an integral part of developing Kulig racing in multiple NASCAR series.

He's local and been successful in sports. I think it's incredible to get him a part of the ownership group, tbh.
