Since we get a lot of talk in the regular thread about everything, I figured I would start a thread that's pretty much dedicated to injury reports...

3/25 injury report

Luke Maile- hamstring injury, will update likely around 3/26

Josh Naylor- coming back from that horrible ankle injury, he got into a couple minor league games (will likely be ready by May, if not earlier from latest updates)

Cody Morris (put on 60 day DL)- Strain in the teres major muscle... 4-6 weeks before throwing again

James Karinchak- currently day to day right arm stiffness... no update on how serious yet

Nick Sandlin- right shoulder strain, should be back for opening day.

Bobby Bradley- left today's game HBP on his forearm. (I haven't seen an update yet)

Amed Rosario (3/23)- day to day illness (didn't travel with team

Actually it sounds like from the other thread, they have been striking out on moves not money, so lady luck is ignoring the G's... Cleveland pissed off more women than expected...

Kar and Sandlin being down doesn’t bode well, especially with Shaw just coming on board. Assume they don’t need much to ramp up for 1 inning. But with Allen and Hentges not doing well, it means we should roster Santos or someone. I am fine cutting ties with Zimmer for that spot and going Lavastida if Maile needs few extra days to ramp up to go a whole reg season game. But, needing Santos creates interesting cuts by mid May with 60 day issue with Morris and Vargas with Chang, Clement playing well. Mercado next but then Allen/Hentges.

Its time for a position player to go to make room for Santos (or a reliever) and based on performance/value I dont see how Zimmer isnt the first on the chopping block.

Seems like the updates for both aren't friendly. Maile is out 3-4 weeks with a hamstring strain and Karinchak will be on the 15 day DL with a Teres major strain (Morris went down with one, but Morris' is way worse)

Good news, Rosario is in the lineup today, so he is hopefully over whatever ailment he had.

No update on Bradley being hit in the forearm. Hopefully we get some type of update today.

So question on Maile is do we replace him with Lavastida, try to put him on waivers for Leon to be called up or do we put him on 60 day dl and call up Leon? Will be interesting.

This might come down to the wire... If they think Maile will be ready to go failry quickly and Lavastida won't have to play more than 3-4 games... They may go for it. If Maile's recovery is slow they will probably have to find a way to add a catcher.

10 day IL. No such thing as the 15 day DL anymore ;)

I forgot the 15 day IL for pitchers actually never got set into effect...
I bow to your wisdom Mr Coach. I was wrong and you were right (besides the name being IL and not DL). According to Zack Meisel, the IL is 15 days for pitchers and 10 days for position players now.

Okay, I thought that is what it was supposed to be, but they implemented it a year later than they originally planned it seems like... I still like DL better than IL though lol
