I need advice: Which is preferred? HK P2000 or the HK P30 in .40?

I ask because the SIG Sauer P226 has a .40 variant. If it's good enough to be used as the sidearm of choice by the Navy Seals, that's good enough for me.
IMO you should just buy both, never can have enough.
This is a new sidearm for home self-defense. CC permits here are very hard to get.
I have a Glock 23 in that role but I may hand that off to my partner.
Sigs are nice, but I am in an HK phase.
I want a compact, in .40. I am used to .40, like it, like the balance of the round.
I have a 9mm, but also I am not enthralled with them from my time in Army. The 9mm has a mixed reputation in the military due to its inability to put down the enemy, who are often hopped up, and this has caused issues.
I'm assuming where you are it's hard to get a rifle. What about a shot gun?
I have a battle rifle, hunting rifle and a good shotgun as well.
Just looking for a new pistol as I am bored with Glocks.
Sounds like your home is already well protected!
