Had We Not Made the Trades

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You make this trade with the Ben-intention of making him your everyday CFer and hope for the best
Best three play the most.. next two play as much as their versatility allows.. any after that, and it's probably a better idea to be getting regular AB's someplace..like Columbus?..

The Indians have led the way in a number of areas....including being one of the first to choose extending key young talent to guarantee expense and continuity thru arbitration years. Also, their continuity of vision in the FO as another example.

One could easily say that they MUST find innovative, off normal ways to build a team so as to take advantage of value and stay competitive.

With that said, a point of value definitely is pitching and our abilities there. I would add, we seem to have a broad number of potentially talented shortstops.....finding value in other team's and using ours to garner theirs is something I could support.
they could start by drafting everyday position prospects who will ultimately be good enough to make it to the show ---- on 2nd thought, nah, other teams are already doing that - wouldnt be innovative

I've been saying that for a couple of years now, but it rarely seems to happen. Miller was the last trade to see any significant prospects shipped out. The question remains if they think this team is good enough to make veteran additions to?

Unfortunately, our problem is a lack of ML quality OF, not too many. Benentendi would automatically become our best LF, and probably the 2nd best position player on the team. I'm not worried where Bauers and Johnson play. They should be worried, but not me.
interesting & before you posted this.. one of the trade sites suggested Beni and Juran going to the Tribe while having the Red Sox see Arias, Bauers and Johnson return... Can't keep all the best prospects & losing Arias before we really know what he can be would hurt.. but.. two OF'ers for now and into the future make a LOT of sense..
