Article on ESPN says that Miller might be getting a new address before the deadline. Seems like Memphis is looking for expiring contracts and draft picks.

Any interest ?

Hell ya Id take miller...we would have to unload some stuff ourselves and I doutb we have exactly what they want

but he would be a nice addition to our squad

Miller is getting $8.25 this year then $9 then $9.75. Its going to be awfully hard for the Cavs to get him with any pieces the Grizzlies would want. All of our expirings combined dont add up enough to get him. They wont want Gooden, they have enough Boobie type players, and Sasha (the only other player I could see them wanted besides possibly Ced) cant be traded due to injury.

Navarro, the other Grizzly being brought up throughout here, is due only about a half mil for the rest of this year. He is an expiring himself, so the Grizz really have no huge incentive to trade him, unless they get a good package in return.

do u think we could give them ira, shannon and drew for miller? i dont see that as being a huge hit to our team while still giving memphis some pieces that could benefit them, and the cavs receive a legitimate second option.

All for just Miller? That's too much. If they add a 2008 2nd round (if they have one) or 2009 1st round pick, which is unlikely, then yes we should go for it.

If the price is right and doesn't hurt the Cavs ability to possibly add a big time talent in the next 2 years than I'd love to get Miller. The only problem with him that might lessen the Cavs interest is that his contract runs until 2010.

A Sasha/Newble/S. Brown for Miller trade would make some sense for both sides but because of Sasha's BYC status it falls $12,419 short of working under the cap.

How about we dont knee jerk and get someone we really would like? That being said i really like mikes game, I just dont want to waste all our assets on him.

we dont have any expirings that they would want for miller. But that would be cool cause he plays great d and can shoot from all over. throw him at shooting guard we would be nice. I really dont wanna give up our 1st round pick though. We might be able to get kosta kofus.

Isn't Juan Carlos Navarro on a one year deal ???

Shannon for JCN ???

There's no way he re-signs there with his buddy Pau gone... Plus, Shannon's poor overall basketball IQ and limited skill-set can all but assure them a chance of getting the #1 pick if they play him significant minutes, lose enough, and get the ping pong balls to go their way...

W&G -

Tell coach Brown to tell this to Ferry, so he can plant the seed in the mind of the Grizzlies punch drunk GM...

hmm good point I like juan. Punch drunk love was good movie.

How does this one look? It gives the Grizz an expiring this year, a vet 3rd PG behind Conley and Lowry and 2 young players to take a look at, plus they lose 2 big contracts. Seems to me all they're looking for is cap space and pieces to rebuild w/, this deal gives them both.

Now I realize this would be a dream scenario, but the Lakers pretty much got a dream scenario their damn self.

There is no incentive for Memphis to do that deal...

If Memphis is trying to clear cap room then a trade like this makes sense if a first round pick is thrown in. It would give the Griz an additional 7 million in cap space.

Drew Gooden, Ira Newble, Shannon Brown, 2008 1st Round Pick for Mike Miller and JC Navarro works.

This trade saves Memphis roughly 11.7M over the next two years and they pick up an another 1st round pick.

Cavs land two guys that can really shoot from distance (Miller .434 and Navarro .397) without really giving up anyone from the core group of players and they don't completely kill their cap flexibility in the process.

Win, win for both sides.
