He has been horribly ineffective out of the pen. The proof is in his last four outings:
Apr 21 @LAA 0 IP 1H 1R 1ER 1HR
Apr 24 @SEA 1.1 IP 0 H 2R 2ER 5BB 1K
Apr 27 vs DET 4.2 IP 2H 1R 1ER 4BB 3K
May 5 @ MIN 3 IP 4H 4R 4ER 1HR 1BB 1K

Meanwhile at Buffalo:
Brian Tallet- 0-0 2.25 ERA in 5 starts and 24 IP
Kaz Tadano- 0-0 2.22 ERA in 7 appearances, 1 start and 24.1 IP
Fernando Cabrera- 3-0 2.13 ERA in 7 relief appearances (12.2 IP)
Matt Miller- 0-0 3.86 ERA in 3 relief appearances (2.1 IP)

I'm not sure if Davis has any options left, but sending him to Buffalo to start and calling up one of the above four may not be too far off, IMO.

I dont think he's going much of anywhere, he's been dubbed our closer of the future, so I dont think they are gunna give up on JD

he didnt do bad today...i dont think he gave up anything.

that detroit one your showing doesnt look too bad.

Look at the walks. Maybe he still can be the "closer of the future", although I think that title may have already been passed to Andrew Brown. I just think, quite simply, he isn't made out for long relief, which is the only role open right now.

the only thing davis does for me is make me laugh. when ever this dude gets pissed at hits somebody he explodes.

he reminds me of john rocker, throws so hard but still gets banged. another year and the offseason and then hes gone.

i think that he should throw a little slower, get more movement and better accuracy. two things he is lacking now.
