Anyone have any suggestions for how to watch the games? Don't have cable, and switched to Youtube.tv a few years back, but it appears that it's no longer available there. I can't trust that other services actually have it based on what is on their sites. What are you guys doing to actually watch it? Can't do NBA League Pass either, as they just black it out since the game is local to me. Help!

Fox Sports need to cease existence after the NBA contract is up. They're doing everything in their power to force people to stay and go back to cable TV when the whole world is transitioning to streaming services.

Have YouTube TV and they removed it from there. Tried League Pass and found out they blackout local games.

They're fucking with NBA, NFL local sports money and holding it hostage. They won't be around for long.

Sinclair, the company that owns Fox sports Ohio, said that they are making a stand alone streaming service for the regional sports networks but it won't be up until next year. It not exactly clear if it will be up and running before the NBA season ends. Hopefully the NBA will step up and they can make a temporary deal to share revenue from single team league pass and take the blackouts off.

Hopefully one of the streaming services will relent and add Fox sports Ohio back. At&t now Max is the only streaming service that has Fox sports Ohio and is $80 a month but you get HBO max included in that.

Other alternative is to figure out a VPN and use league pass. The problem with that is there is no way of knowing which VPNs work.

Can you borrow someone's cable information and stream on the internet or thru a Spectrum app or something?

Seriously fuck FOX and the NBA and whoever else may be responsible. You probably have millions of people who would pay $$$ just to watch their local teams. The only reason I pay $60 a month for YT TV is (was) for Cavs/Browns. The money is out there, they are just too goddamn stupid and slow to react.

I actually don't think Sinclair really wants people to go back to cable. I think they over played their hand when they bought up the fox sports regions sports networks and just don't know how to leverage what they have to get companies to buy up their stations.

The thing is when they were owned by Fox they negotiated the regional sports networks with FS1, FX, and Fox news. Now when they are owned by Sinclair, they are trying to package it with tennis channel and the random broadcast networks they own all over the country.

The Bally's partnership is interesting since they are going to try to integrate live sports betting into their standalone service for regional sports.

I do think the NBA will come to their senses and control their own broadcasting more when these RSN contracts come up. It makes more sense to go to a NFL type model with live sports being one of the few places advertisers can people to actually watch their ads.

The thing I just realized is that this problem exists with all the Fox Regional Sports Networks, not just Fox Sports Ohio.
They need to resolve this issue, this season especially, when only about 200 people can go to the games.

Such a fantastic thing... Let's cut off our fans during a time when there are no alternatives. Sounds like a recipe for success, NBA.

This is a bit random: back in my first few seasons following the team between 2006-11 i would follow the live box scores during class at school refreshing constantly becuase back then auto refresh wasn’t a thing for some reason. It was a heap more stressful than actually watching games, it seemed every score was more important. Not game 7 of nba finals stressful but still stressful. So to anyone that can’t watch games I feel for you.

I am in the same boat as a YouTubeTV subscriber. My solution has been a VPN with league pass. To this point I have been playing the games on my Mac and screen mirroring them to my TV. It is getting the job done pretty well thus far. If I decide to stick with it for the season, I may invest in a VPN capable router or figure out how to set a virtual router.

I currently have a Cox Cable gigablast and YouTube TV setup. I learned last week that my city got AT&T fiber. Cox has had a monopoly for years on high-speed internet in my city. On Tuesday I'm moving to AT&T Fiber and their streaming service. Even faster internet which is already fast, I get fox sports Ohio back, HBO for life, and save $50 a month. No brainer switch.

What VPN are you using?

Frankly this is all bull shit. You should be able to watch your local team on a local channel. No cable required.

There is a reason that the NFL gets such big viewership and I think this is the reason. Anyone can watch the Browns or their local NFL team. I think as cable dies, the NBA and MLB will look to put more games on local broadcast tv. The expanding of broadcast tv with ATSC 3.0, the additional channels just makes sense to add more live sports. At least that's what I hope will happen.
