How to watch the Guardians on TV

It's a great deal, but then you get blacked out because of archaic, bullshit deals that existed before streaming.
es but you can watch our Central Division rivals who added players this off-season.

BTW....If T-Mobile is your mobile carrier,,,, you get MLB.TV FRRRREEE!
Been doing this for years. (Market restrictions apply.)
Great deal. Check your T-Mobile Tuesdays app for free stuff.

Well, the home stand telecast has ended for me and probably a number of other regular posters. Bally Sports, that lovable Sinclair Sports network, is no longer available to Spectrum internet only subscribers like me. Through a previous “loophole,” Spectrum internet subscribers could watch Guardians, Cavaliers, and Blue Jackets’ game broadcasts live in real time. No more, alas as it appears Spectrum management has pulled the plug on us as word spread among Spectrum subscribers. It was nice while it lasted but I’m not about to drop YouTube TV and subscribe to Spectrum cable just to get Bally Sports. See article below.

Live streaming baseball in the Bally Sports app

Update: As of Friday afternoon, May 20, this trick no longer appears to work, with video streams from Bally Sports showing an error message while logged in via Spectrum. It was fun while it lasted. Original story continues below.
Of all the tricks I’ve written about for lowering your streaming TV bill, this one involving Spectrum and regional Bally Sports networks is by far the strangest.

This week, I discovered that Spectrum internet customers can watch in-market Major League Baseball games and other Bally Sports coverage for free without a pay TV subscription. All you need to do is log into the Bally Sports app with your Spectrum credentials, and you’ll have access to the live channel and full game replays.
Most internet providers only offer access to the Bally Sports app’s live stream if you’re paying for the cable channel as part of a full TV package, so it’s unclear why Spectrum customers can get it for free. Neither Spectrum nor Sinclair, which owns those channels, have responded to a request for comment.

Well, a bit of bad news... even though Bally Sports is launching their streaming service just about any day now, it will NOT include the Guardians this season because they did not reach a deal with the club to carry them. Could be in the cards for next season, but if you were hoping to get it going this season, sadly... no go.

I have been using MLB.TV for years and love it but I am in the Reds television market so I can watch all of the Guardians games on MLB.TV except when they play in Cincinnati (blacked out on MLB.TV) but I have Spectrum TV at my house and get Bally's which covers the Reds when we play the Reds and shows the Cavs here for basketball.

How much do you pay for Spectrum though?

This might be a dumb question - but can't you just use a VPN and watch whatever MLB game you want via MLBTV ?

It's possible, but a lot of providers will ban certain IPs from viewing their product (such as VPN IPs). I tried to watch a TBS stream of the world series back in 2019 when I was out of the country using a US VPN location and it wouldn't work.

I don’t have MLBTV this year, but in the past I would have to try different options for my VPN (I had PIA). One year, it would only work if I used a VPN location outside the US, but other year it worked fine as long as I was in a different city than the two teams in the game.
