Unbelievably bad deal for Charlotte....I don't understand this at all. Mitch Kupchak is the all time worst.

He just shipped an expiring Dwight Howard for 2 years of Timo at $16.5M.

All the Hornets had to do was let Dwight play this year out and let him walk, or flip him at the deadline......but to take on Timo's contract? Unreal.

Honestly, if that's all it took to unload Dwight, we should've offered up Tristan, to get Dwight's expiring deal back. Similar deal to Timo. That's disappointing too....

Makes me wonder. Would a #8, Cedi, and Howard been enough to interest San Antonio for Kawhi? He would fit well next to LA imo and that's a big chunk of expiring $$.

Charlotte got out of the tax this year, and look to start preparing for a full rebuild. So Timo's extra year means nothing really to them, IMO... They're not a F.A. destination regardless.

Im just curious to see if this was just phase 1 of blowing it up, with more to come tomorrow. It made sense for both teams. Nets probably got a better deal becuase they could theoretically be a F.A. destination in 2019.

Agreed.. This definitely looks like they're beginning the process of rebuilding. This is also why I think they would take back Thompson and Clarkson if we took Batum/Zeller in a pick swap for Kemba.

I’m like 90% convinced Charlotte has the framework of another deal in place.

If you look around the corners of the internet and listen to the “true basketball minds” of the NBA......Charlotte is getting absolutely destroyed for this trade. It was an awful swap of contracts for the Hornets......UNLESS it’s part of a bigger move.

If nothing else happens after this, Mitch Kupchak should be banned from ever entering an NBA arena again.
