Not saying I want this to happen obviously, but I've seen the discussion thrown around, so figured I'd start a thread since this section is a bit dead this time of year.

LeBron, PG13, Lonzo, Ingram, etc. vs. Durant, Curry, Klay, Dray, Iggy

Who do you WANT to win here, aka, who are you rooting for?

I’ll go status quo over the asshole who skipped town a second time and garbage Laker fans.

But, who am I kidding, I wouldn’t watch that shit for one second. Go meteor!

Would the Lakers even make the playoffs? Whose to say they will get PG13? Legit question.

The Lakers...

I'm not really sure how any Cavs fan could bring themselves to root for Golden State.

Honestly, I want to see LeBron surpass MJ in total rings won, and if that means leaving Cleveland and he and Gilbert can't find a way to make it work, then that's fine. It sucks, and it's a letdown, but it's alright.

Going to the Lakers would be one of the most disappointing and annoying decisions to me. Having said that, I'd still root for his team or any other team in the league to beat Golden State.

I am and will always be a LeBron fan.

I do and always will hate the Warriors with every fiber of my being.

The answer to this question is painfully simple.

He speaks for all of us.

There is no condition under which I can root for a team with Donkeylips on it. So... Lakers.

I would be very disapointed I couldn't see him finish it up here and get us another ring.

however...I would personally like to see him get his 4th, and 5th if possible. Just so we can at least have people to start to shut the fuck up about the whole "DURR JORDAN BETTER" shit.

Yea no way I could root for the Dubs but sadly I don't think a Lakers team even with
LBJ is beating GS. I think the Warriors would smash them. If he wants a more guaranteed shot at the Warriors, imo LA isn't the place.

No way LeBron even entertains the Lakers if PG isn't there.

I do think it will take more than just PG for Magic and co to sell Lakers to LeBron.

They need another player if they genuinely want to contend.

Their best case scenario without trading any major pieces is:-

Lonzo - PG - Ingram - LeBron - Lopez.

Hart, Kuzma, Randle, Frye.

Re-sign Randle, sign Lopez back for TP MLE. Probably get a couple of vets.

Its a good team but not something that would bother the Warriors.

They have to trade Ingram away to get that third star. Another wing who can shoot. Probably someone like Beal?

The Lakers suck.

This is an interesting thread, because I was just thinking, if I'm LeBron and I've decided I'm going to the Lakers for whatever reason, here's what I do.

Call up KD/have a meeting with KD. Use his insecurity and the general lack of appreciation he gets in GSW (just look at him getting shit on during the championship parade). Talk to him about how everyone says he went to the Warriors and can't win a ring without joining the best team in the league. This and that, I'm not going to type out a huge long post. And then propose that he joins forces in LA.

I mean, that'd crush the Warriors, take away their best player, and it'd give LeBron a much easier path to a championship.

With that said, to answer the question posed in this thread, yes I would root for the Lakers over GSW. I would rather have literally any team besides GSW win.

The difficult part for myself is not rooting for LeBron- it's rooting for the Lakers. I honestly couldn't bring myself to do that. Might as well become a fan of the Yankees, Patriots, Steelers, the Hawks, Iceland, Cobra Kai, etc. Even for how loathesome the Warriors have become, we know money will rip them apart here soon enough. The Lakers have been an insufferable team and fan base for decades now... I just couldn't root for them to win more. The only place LBJ could flee to (of the logical options) and I would give unconditional support would be with Pops in San Antonio.
