Saw this clip earlier today and took a look back at Peyton’s stats from his first 5 seasons.

From a TD/INT standpoint

‘98 26/28
‘99 26/15
‘00 33/15
‘01 26/23
‘02 27/19

In that clip I hear Sean Salisbury's voice and being from Canton, I immediately think of him tooling around Hall of Fame week(side note, heard nothing but great things about Peyton while he was here for his induction) and coming to one of the bars here that almost all of the former players and other ancillary celebrities came to. He would show everyone this aged picture of a little boy, who was probably about 9 or 10 years old in the picture, with what I can only describe as a tree stump chode. Like, hentai monster veiny, 2 liter of cola sized penis. It was obviously fake, but he would mostly show it to women, my girlfriend at the time who worked at the bar being one of them, claiming he was the kid in the picture and would ask them if they wanted to see if he was telling the truth or not. Not sure if the bit ever worked for him, but I can't say I've ever heard of a time where using something that is ostensibly child porn ever facilitated getting a dude laid.

Anyone named Salisbury is packin.

Oh, and re: Manning....I would be reaching for the next Randall Cunningham.

Here's his coach's opinion. If Ben Simmons thinks Doc was rough on him check this rant out:

I don't need to tell you, but context is obviously king when looking at old QB stats.

Interceptions were much more common back in the late 90s and into the early 00s. Like in 1999 the league average for interceptions was 18.1 in a 16 game season. This past year it was 13.8 in a 17 game season.

Throw out that outlier rookie year for Peyton and he was basically a league average QB at avoiding interceptions.

But where Manning was wildly more productive than the rest of the league was touchdown generation. He averaged 27.6 TDs per season during that time frame when the league average was just 21.2.
