Ronnie Belliard looks to keep up his strong hitting as the Cleveland Indians continue a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.
The second basemen hit his second homer in as many nights to help the Indians snap a three-game losing streak with a 6-1 victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Belliard hit a three-run shot to put Cleveland ahead 5-0 in the first inning. He is batting .368 (7-for-19) with three homers in the last six games to lead the Indians with four home runs and 10 RBIs.

He had a two-run homer in a disappointing 6-5 loss in 10 innings to the Anaheim Angels on Thursday. The Indians relinquished an early 5-0 lead in the defeat -- which he took exceptionally hard.

``We talk about it last night on the plane and again today,'' said Belliard, a first-time All-Star last season. ``But we come back today.''

The 5-foot-8 second basemen looks to spark up the Indians' slumping offense. Cleveland put together a surprise run for contention in the AL Central last season on the strength of its bats as seven players posted at least 70 RBIs -- including Belliard.

However, the Indians entered the series batting a league-low .233 with just 59 RBIs and 62 runs -- also among the worst in the league.

The Mariners fell to 1-2 on their five-game homestand and have lost five of their last eight games.

Ichiro Suzuki went 0-for-4 Friday, and was hitless for just the third time this season. The four-time All-Star outfielder, who set a major league single-season record with 262 hits last season, is 3-for-20 in his last five games.

Cliff Lee goes seven shutout innings again. Indians up 3-0 in the top of the 8th right now.

thank you wedge for bringing in wicky. douple play and then a flyout so we hold on for the win.

tommorrow we go for the sweep.

Wick did a nice job last night in cleaning up Howry's mess. Shouldn't have been a save situation, but he took it and ran. Nice job.

What is up with Belliard? 5 HRs now! Can't say I expected that...

Nice little 2 game winning streak.. Lets keep it rolling!

i was laughing when belliard scored from 1 early in the game. that guy is pudgy.

everything went good last night except for howry.

I hate Jaime Moyer. The Indians can NEVER hit him. A left-handed junk-baller who simply shuts down the Tribe every time...

Elarton's line yesterday looks worse than it was. He had a bad inning in the fifth and couldn't escape. Sauerbeck and Betancourt didn't help in the inning and it made his stat line worse.
