Moving Shaw and Lonnie seems like a good idea.

Indians will get better though I believe that.

Do you think we should get Allen a contract extension? If we can add on two more years, he would be a free agent with a lot of our guys that would make this roster together for a fair amount of year!

The Indians will never buy into the free agency of a closer, they'll groom another one.

They've got $17M invested in Allen and Miller combined, I'd be surprised if Allen wasn't a prime candidate for trade within the next year.

I can understand why, but at the same time if we extend him then we kept the team together longer. We have a strong core right now and we are contenders. True we do have a cheap owner tho lol

Keeping the team together shouldn't be the top priority, nor does it ensure that the team has used their salary dollars in the best way.

Cody Allen, for the 50 innings he provides a year, have a value associated with that. While New York is paying Aroldis Chapman $300K an inning to do it for them, the Indians are spending less than that on Allen and Miller combined in 2017.

Once Allen hits the open market, his value becomes less so.

Money matters, and just because they won't extend a player doesn't make them cheap. This is what more fans need to understand.

Oh i know it doesn't mean it will be cheap. I guess we have a good team and I would like it to stay together/make sure we have the guys to transfer the position to who is legit. The Indians FO in the past has always not spent money when they needed to have and luckily the last few years have been better with this, but I still feel this is the time to win when we have a very good core with a lot of good guys coming up. (Though our young relievers haven't proved themselves all that well just yet so we will have to see if we have someone to replace Allen)

Don't be another one of those posters...just, don't.

*whistles* Okay then I shall say, sometimes the FO needs to make sure we don't get outbid by Tampa lol

That's what happens when you have the worst fan support in the sport next to those same Rays.

We better get more fans in the stand next season. The Indians and the Red Soxs with the current roster are the teams meeting in the ALCS next season. If the Indians do not get there then it was the players/coaches not even coming close to their potentials. Though there are some issues with the tickets as well, like the fact they raise the tickets up price a week before the game, so you don't get a lot of last minute let's go to the game.

People don't show up because the Dolanz r cheep though

IF the fans don't show up next season I wouldn't blame the owners for moving the ball club. From a business sense you cannot put a better product out than what the roster next season will be. If we had a healthy Brantley and Carrasco, then we would have won it all more than likely. This is one of the best teams in baseball and it is not wrong of me to hope we keep it together as long as possible cause of that.

Expect about a 4-5K bump per season next year.

20th-23rd in the league, or thereabouts.

Small bump from the promotions that ran through playoffs, small increase expected based on past season performance.

Feel like people will think this is underwhelming, but that'd actually be really nice to see.

Puts us somewhere between 24-25K per game. Haven't hit that mark since 08. Have a chance to build off of that more as well. It is nice to see the organization as a whole trending in the right direction, just wish more fans noticed it or noticed it earlier when you saw it coming ~2013 or 2014.
