Indians sign Carrasco to extension

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am actually sitting here trying to think of guys who have done this in any sport and I'm really struggling to think of one.
I think that first contract extension put him in a bad spot, as he wouldn't be eligible for free agency till 2020 when he would be 34. Had he never signed the extension, he could have gotten a contract like corbin did. But at any rate, he is a nice guy and really must like playing in Cleveland.

He could have maybe earned more if he didn't sign that contract extension, but I remember when he signed that original contract extension, he was still wasn't a dominant pitcher yet and he was like for the other reason was the fact he had a kid. He was like I am a father now. My guess is even though he was a hot head growing up in our system, he signed to support the family and now he is signing so he doesn't have to worry about moving and he knows he will get paid even as he gets older. Honestly a steal on the Indians part in a way, but if anyone is honest with themselves, that is still a lot of money.

If you read Carrascos story coming over from the Dominican and being at the Indians facility and basically being raised by the Indians and then coming up through the system and such Cleveland is considered home to him.. hell he became an official citizen in Cleveland
