Indians vs Nationals (Finish oh so strong)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was just thinking, 5 runs? No problem! Then Otero comes in....

Retooling is dealing Lindor out West for a King's Ransom. I love our team the next two years but I'd hate to lose his generational talent for nothing. Should probably just stick to our guns.
Very possible. We will just get bounced in the ALDS though. This team ain’t winning shit. We had our chance in 2016.
Blew it, literally.

I'm of the opinion that the 2017 team blew it way more than the 2016 team did. I get they blew a 3-1 lead and all that, but they had no business beating Boston, let alone making it to Game 7 of the World Series. That team was the definition of depleted.

2017 had a 2-0 lead on the Yankees and definitely should have at least won that series. We were loaded, and that team choked like crazy.

Last year, we were just outmatched by that cheating prick Houston team.

This year, we still won at least 93 games with a metric shit-ton of injuries and are going to be left out.

Yeah we really had our chance when we were pitching Merritt, destroyed hand Bauer, and bullpen days in the ALCS

It’s literally remarkable to me that the same people bring up 2016 as a missed opportunity while saying we have no chance going forward. That 2016 was the worst fucking team in the playoffs talent wise. By fucking far.

But oh no the Astros who have Cole as a free agent who have shown nothing to say they’re willing to spend the amount needed to keep him are unbeatable. Give me a fucking break

Had a bad feeling about this year. Said it as much in the prediction thread before the year started.
Time to retool.
Congrats. At least you’re right about something. I just wish Kluber was throwing that 100 mph fastball still.

This is the 2nd time if I remember correctly, and, I think you’re wrong. I think he is gone by April.
Can you please elaborate why and how we should retool this roster? Who are we going to trade Lindor to and for what? I’d really like to hear your expertise for this. Im really waiting for this one, I'm all ears.

As the disappointment of this season sinks in, I have to say that I’d rather be in the hunt every year as opposed to being eliminated at the all star break. A lot of injuries and major overhauls of bringing up AAA guys who performed well, still isn’t an excuse when you look at the games we gave away. Two games to play and now that there is no more pressure, let’s go out and win them. 95 wins is very good but in a year where there are 4 100+ win teams, that makes things difficult.

Go Tribe...WFNY

The F.O. made a lot of fantastic moves this year given ownership's tightening of the purse, but not trading Kluber was a massive blunder.

So brave of you.

They should have seen that line drive coming.

Anytime you finish above 0.500 in Cleveland it should be considered a good year. It seems like we are on the cusp of a rebuild but I hope it can be only a 2-3 year tank and Tito sticks around. 3 playoff appearances and one WS appearance on our budget is damn good. It was obvious that the window had closed last year but this FO usually finds a way to rebuild and compete.

It seems almost certain the drought goes to 75-80 years at this point. I hope we win one before 2048 but damn 97 and 16 may be the best looks we see. Oh well, it’s a nice summer distraction. Maybe next year.

93 wins definitely signified that the window closed last year

No the emergence of Houston, rebirth of the Yankees and both of those teams whipping us closed the window. Winning 93 games and not making the playoffs boarded up the window.
Overreaction? Maybe, but don’t kid yourselves, we all know we aren’t winning the title in 2020.
