Is a ring this year possible?

Short answer - no

I admit I started drinking the Kool Aid after that great start and I’m not overreacting to a 3 game skid but other than DG showing that he can single-handedly give games away, the last 3 games really exposes our lack of perimeter shooting.

All teams have to do is double/trap Mitchell and it’s over.

Not sure if teams can learn to be clutch over 65 games but even if so, the realism is that we are a 4-6 seed and the season would be a success winning one playoff series. Building off last year.

Then maybe getting the perimeter pieces we miss in the off season for a real run next year.

Very disappointment in Garland

2 weeks since I asked this question and now I feel foolish...
I mean...it made sense at the time. All star back court...all star front court...solid bench.
Fast forward a couple weeks...and shit has hit the fan. Contenders don't lose 5 games in a row.

IMO- last year the pecking order was obvious. DG was the alpha dog on offense. Furthermore, he was thriving as a playmaker. As the season progressed..he his shot volume increased and he was rendered less effective. I do not think Darius is a 20 FGA player. He is a dude that can be a perennial all star scoring 20ppg with 10 assists. The pass first maestro we fell in love with last year ceases to exist.

Mobley is still in a developmental curve. Great upside but feeding him in the paint is not good offense. He needs to score off lobs and ocassional baby hooks.

Finally-like everyone here has reiterated a million times- Wade needs to be our starting 3 by default.

Long story short- I believe we have solid personnel ( 50 win team). But the team is in the dark on their respective roles. If you read all of this shit I appreciate it.

Injuries are killing us. Pretty much everyone qualified any optimistic takes by saying, "if we can stay healthy". Having both JA and Wade out killed our chances against the Bucks. I just hope these things aren't lingering. Wade's most likely will bother him for a long time. I thought JA was out for his ankle but now I'm hearing he was sick, after DG was also sick, so maybe a bug has been going around. I hope that's all it was.

If Wade’s hs coach is correct and it’s a bursitis issue, it’s likely prepatellar bursitis which happens to all kinds of athletes and almost always resolves without lingering effects. It sounds like JA’s injury was minor also. So, the bad news is this stretch of illnesses/injuries likely cost us a couple of games we could have won. The good news is there doesn’t seem to be anything that should linger going forward. Other than Windler, everyone should be back to full strength in a matter of days, not weeks.

I think most of us were drinking the Kool-Aid for a few weeks. I also believe it is possible for us to bounce back and maybe still have a great season.

Maybe, but it will take a bit of luck. Sometimes you just gotta be in the right place at the right time, look at the Raptors 1 ring, they got it because the Warriors got a ton of injuries right at the end. The Cavs have a solid team, much like the Celtics did last year, and if they can stick to the gameplan and stay healthy, they can go to the ECF at the very least.

DON'T STOP BELIEVEING

But the fetishizing of the Bucks and dismissal of the warriors is not gonna age well
Our team sucks but the immense fear of the deer and the underrating of the warriors all year is amazing from a board that SHOULD understand how important top end talent is from the LeBron years (top end talent comment more about people counting the warriors out)

Predictable stuff. Incoming excuses for the juggernaut team getting dad dicked by Jim Buckets
