I do think it's a mistake to fixate on what a player can't do, and instead focus on what he can do. Very few players can do a lot of things well. Most have one or two areas where they are strong. It's a matter of putting them in those positions where those strengths are highlighted and the weaknesses minimized. If you could somehow combine Sexton’s offense with Okoro’s defense you’d have a great player. As is, both are irreparably flawed.

Problem for Okoro is that he's a SG who can't S. He brings stout defense, and that has a value ... but this starting lineup is just crying for a SG who can hit a three reliably. Especially on a night like tonight when Markkanen's shot isn't falling. When that happens, the only reliable outside threat (among the starters) is Garland.
If this were the year that we all thought it was going to be -- another developmental season with a likely lottery pick, or play-in game as a best case scenario -- then maybe they could live with trying to develop Okoro. But the Cavs are looking quite a bit better than that. The expectations have changed. And while I'm not willing to give up on Okoro long-term, the tolerance for on-the-job training has to be less.
I agree. He did stuff Collin can't do. He just needs to take and make more shots. Mobley likewise. But they are 20 year old kids.pfft, several winning plays when the Cavs came back. Plays that absolutely would not have happened with someone else on the floor. Yeah, corner 3 needs to fall.
Lamar Stevens is just as effective as this guy.
and not as effective. And 4 years older
Feel like minutes should be lower than Cedi's at this point.
He can start for the sake of rotations, but it'll be almost ceremonial.
Kinda like Solomon Hill starting for Atlanta last year after Hunter got hurt.
He started, but he played bench player minutes.
Osman should start to creep towards 30 minutes and Okoro sub 20.

I thought he’d be able to guard Mitchell, but I thought Garland did a better job slowing him down. Not sure what the match up numbers say about this.
