Isaiah Mobley draft safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At first this struck me as a ridiculous idea, but then I remembered Thanasis Antetokounmpo, an absolutely horrible basketball player, is in the NBA.

The only problem is that I don't think Mobley has reached the "You're one of the 5 best players in the world so we'd draft all your family members if we could" stage yet.

Neither was JR Smith but his brother got like 3 contracts with the Knicks.

Most industry kicks don’t even have him in their two round mocks.

IF we end up getting and keeping 13 or 14 and drafting a wing. I would be ok then taking him with 37

But if we win Friday, then I still prefer a wing/bug guard at 37 or trade up from 37 and then hoping Isaiah is still there at 58

I think the Cavs are looking at Isaiah Mobley with the Heat pick or as an UDFA. They have real plans for that Spurs pick, as before about 5 days ago they still thought that was the only pick they were going to have.

I am having a hard time seeing them take 3 rooks. Or 2 rooks even and an UDFA. There's no room on the roster

They can make Isaiah a 2 way player, i dont think he is going to get a ton of interest.

Right now we have 10 players under contract for next year and a club option on Wade. We also have Nembhard as a 2 way and an open spot.

Lets assume Sexton is signed and Wade's option is picked up.

Players with cap holds, Moses, Goodwin, Ed Davis, Delly, Rondo. That leaves 3 roster spots and a 2 way contract. Lets assume we draft a wing and a backup PG, let nembhard go, sign Moses 2 one of the 2 way contracts, the 3rd pick to the other. That leaves one regular roster spot and one 2 way roster spot.

Only way Isaiah makes the team is on a 2 way contract. As you said no room, but I was just proving it, lol

This assumes we dont trade away Windler or Osman and free up room, which we might, but we could bring someone back in their spot.

I assume we will also use the BAE on someone but we may also just be keeping that spot open for a late season signing of Spanish Basketball Jesus.

If Rubio is willing to take the 2 year BAE from us I would be willing to have him rehab with the team, 1.5 years of Rubio at 5 mill or so is a steal for sure, but who knows if he will ever be the same with that injury.

Apparently they have frequent brotherly conversations where they exchange tips on their games and encourage each other, and he has been nagging Evan to work on his three ball. For that alone I want him.

Also approve of hiring Eric Mobley as an assistant coach and Evans mom as team chef

Gonna be my last post on it in this thread, but I expect his game won't be hurt by the injury as badly as say Amare or D Rose was. Rubio's biggest advantages were always his insane vision, his sky-high bball IQ, and his plus size at PG. I expect that all to still be there. He probably won't have as much burst as before, but in a 15-20 min role as backup PG? That is more than enough

So why haven’t the Nuggets signed BOTH of the Jokic Bros? One for each of two back-to-back MVPs (if he wins).

If undrafted, I expect Isaiah to sign here as a UDFA and then be one of our 2 Way players this year. He'll get some run because of eventual injuries or Covid protocols but mainly play for the Charge int a developmental year.

14 and 37 will take the roster spots of Nembhard and one of Goodwin, Davis, Cedi, Windler

Remains to be seen what happens with Moses Brown. He has incredible size and athleticism that makes him a tantalizing developmental organization but he has already been let go by THREE organizations know as good developmental orgs in just 3 years in the league (Portland, OKC, Dallas)

I get what you are saying and i had a similar thought, but then I realized that Rubio is a big guard with decent athletic ability and until we see how much he loses from another tear of the same knee, we really wont know how effective he can be.

Rondo was a high IQ PG who had father time catch up to him and caused his game to erode, Rubio could have a similar erosion. We will see.

I'd guess it might be Rubio's defensive ability that might be hampered more. He really impressed me there.
