He's due 40m over the next 3 years after this one ends. Right now, he seems to fit the mold of a player that still can produce at a pretty high level, but has an ugly-ish type contract that a team may want to shed. I do somewhat worry that he's been on loser teams his whole career, save for one Warriors playoff run.

I also believe the bobcats are in somewhat poor financial status, so perhaps that will encourage them to move him.

What's everyone's thoughts on him. Hughes level loser, or a geniune upgrade to our backcourt? The type of guy that could propel us into 55-60 win territory?

We should easily have the contracts to make a trade work.

Sounds good. But what we really need is another hard driving player like LeBron but with a bit of shooting touch. We have too much "shooters" who can barely shoot right now. If J-Rich can penetrate like LeBron does that then I'm in the bandwagon.

Can't land Micheal Redd... I'm all for landing Richardson.

Remember though, they traded their No.1 pick for this guy. Doubt they let em go.

Exactly... They traded Brandan Wright, a UNC alum and a guy they could use, for J-Rich and his contract...

I don't see why they would trade him as he's a perfect fit, IMO, next to Felton and Wallace and gives them exactly what they need with that trio...

All the Bobcats need to do is develop some nice depth and find that big time scorer down-low and they will be a nice team as they have 4 nice pieces in the starting lineup...

I'd probably take him but then the problem becomes who takes on the defensive assignments each night because J-Rich isn't too good of a defender... Then on top of that his shooting %'s aren't too good either...

They have to finish 9-7 to beat their awful record from last year. Yeah, I'm aware that they did give up a #1, which is primarliy the only reason that Rich should be hard to get.

May and morrison are both hurt, and the team should get a pretty good pick in the draft. Looks like there could easily be a SG there when they pick, one that won't cost them 40million.

I was also thinking Richardson would look nice at SG for the Cavs. Fits as a solid 2nd scorer who can create offense for himself and hit perimeter shots.

I don't see Charlotte trading him either. He's a big piece for them.
Some of us thought J-Rich was a nice fit and worth pursuing before he was traded to the Bobcats. Too late to do it now.

Richardson and Redd are both guys who can hit from range and when you close out can put the ball on the floor and make plays. They also have the ability to create their own shot when the clock runs down. THat's needed in our second star as mike browns offence tends to wind up in someones hands, normally LeBron, with 5 ticks on the clock

How is J-Rich's jumpshot? I haven't followed him that much lately.

Richardson is primarily a jump shooter now, he can hit from range and with a hand in his face. He still has no midrange game really. And with the bobcats hedoesn't seem to drive for dunks much anymore.
