Jacoby Brissett: Class Act

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stefanski is godly in making Mayfield seem to be a viable starting QB.
I think that's a fair take. When Mayfield isn't getting easy schemed throws or busted coverages he looks genuinely the worst QB in the league. Practically like a guy who played some football ten years ago and has been asked to put down his beer and walk straight into an NFL game: lost; physically and mentally overwhelmed.

Baker is lucky Darnold and Corral are currently unavailable. Even typing that sentence shows how far his star has fallen. He has about three weeks to save his career. His disintegration from Rookie Baker to this is startling and more than a little sad.

The delicious irony is that Mayfield hated Stefanski's offense and felt it was too stifling and holding him back.

We don't even need to get into how he was able to convince a boatload of Browns fans this was the case as well.

So Baker's not even a starter anywhere next season?
Seems reasonable.

Not even Detroit?

Please?

There are already more than a few folks in Carolina saying a healthy Darnold is a better option so, yeah. Not likely even Detroit.

This is Baker’s second and last shot imo

If he can’t perform better than Fields it’s over for his career as a starter

Fields is an insanely low bar and he can’t even pass it

Why was Baker so good in 2018 though? Didn’t he have a streak of like 18 straight games throwing TD passes? That was before Stefanski.

Baker needs very specific things.

He's small and melts under pressure, so you need an elite G/C/G combo manning the interior of the offensive line in front of him.

The only throws I think he's above average on are vertical up the seam and the rollout towards the sideline, hitting a receiver who's working his way back to the QB.

If you're a DC and take those away, Baker is kinda dogshit.

Week 3 ranking: 17

Team QBR: 62.6
QBR rank: 8th
Through three games, Jacoby Brissett is probably the biggest surprise on the Browns, and maybe one of the biggest surprise performers in the NFL. He ranks ninth in QBR (62.6), ahead of Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers, among others. He has completed 66.3% of his passes and thrown four touchdowns with only one interception. The running game has been prolific, but Cleveland ranks fifth in offensive efficiency because of its quarterback as well. If Brissett can maintain this level of play, the Browns should be firmly in the playoff mix once Deshaun Watson returns from suspension in Week 13. -- Jake Trotter

Some of our injuries on defense on top of their overall play has become problematic, but Jacoby could be my backup anytime, love everything about the guy from demeanor to intelligence, ect...but his lack of deep ball accuracy will prevent him from being a consistent starter in this league. Not a bash on Brissett, just a fact, but fantastic #2 QB.
