Nope. He will be a RFA this off-season. I'm not saying that he will leave; i'm saying that he will demand a huge pay day, and we will have Sexton to extend as well.

I'm not complaining, but things could get interesting and could go south fast.

I don't think you generally get in trouble paying 22 year old players who are good.

I think we'll be fine. He is a really nice fit with our roster.

I'm fine with paying young cornerstones.

This trade makes us stronger (and hurt our own draft pick )and will most likely prevent us from drafting perhaps the best player in the draft in Mobley.

I don't love paying much for centers. Yes, he is impactful, but he is still pretty one dimensional as an offensive player, is he not?

Tell me, the 2022 draft can still be a double draft, or is that off the table?

I thought I liked this guy and I see you guys pumping up Allen, and that hits me in the feels! I've been tuned out of the nba for a couple years so this confirmation bias feels great.

Love this! Allen is a stud! I don't know much about Prince. Is he any good?

Dunno, nowadays players don't seem to hold much value with the contracts that are given today unless they are superstars.

I'm not mad at all. I'm just analyzing it right now.

Anyone got advanced stats for Allen? I know he fits, but I want my data.

His contract demands seem pretty reasonable to me.

It was floated he would like 5 years, $90 mil.

Seems roughly market value given his age / production.

I don't think that type of contract limits flexibility moving forward, especially if you had a front court player on a rookie deal.

5/90 is fine with me. Maybe it changed now that he is on the Cavs ? :chuckle:

I don't think it greatly affects our win totals this season. He'll split time with Drummond until we move him, and this season is just weird in general.

If there was ever an off-season to have to pay two good young RFA's, it's this upcoming summer because of the cap flatness due to COVID. Halfway through those contracts they could be some of the better value deals in the league.

It's all about building a young core. We have the guards. Now we have a Center. Now we can focus on the wings/forwards and Okoro/Prince/Windler is not a bad start at all.

Plus, obviously we have a very low chance as it stands today of wining the lottery. Certainly no reason to pass on basically getting Jarrett Allen for free.
