Also, most former and current players are terrible at really talking basketball. Oddly.
I agree 100%. It's hard to explain anything you are really downright exceptional at. Let's take public speaking - most truly incredible public speakers can't tell you exactly how they do it. It just happens. Lue and Kerr are considered the best coaches in the NBA right now... and Pop, for that matter, who was an OK college player who go by on hard work and learning to take advantage of the little advantages he had.I always question hiring great athletes as coaches or analysts. Mainly because great athletes tend to have such a natural gift at the sport that they can't really explain or teach how they do the things they do. It's just second nature to them, it'd be like explaining your thought process / problem solving to someone, it would sound super logical to you but would be entirely foreign to someone else and totally inapplicable to someone trying to learn. At least, that's my operating theory.
I actually like Perkins but just from a talking head standpoint. If I ever watch clips from ESPN, it's entertainment, like watching a TV court show or something lol. Sadly, as far as analysis goes, I find him relatively normal to ESPN's talking head standards.Yeah I wonder how some of these guys get analyst jobs...Kendrick Perkins for instance is unlistenable
Angry or aggressive JA is a top 5 C in the NBA, dude is a beast
Does Gobert lose points for annoying Mitchell so much they had to dismantle the team?Jokic
Embiid
Bam
Gobert
Ayton
KAT
Allen
In that order, in my opinion, you can make an argument that Towns is a PF, but I have Jarrett at 7th.
But top 10 for sure, I love Jarrett's game,, especially defensively, he really is a beast, and 3rd or 4th defensive center in the league.

I can’t put Bam and Ayton ahead of Allen….Gobert is close to that line.Does Gobert lose points for annoying Mitchell so much they had to dismantle the team?
Glad JBB didn't overreact to some of JA' s early frustrations like some wanted him to and kept JA in during the critical moments. You ride and die with the big 4 and JA is one of them. I was okay with his decision to not bring JA back in near the end of the Knicks game because that lineup was smoking hot from 3.He got the absolute shit beat out of him all night.
You could very clearly tell the Celtics had a game plan to beat him up when screening. It almost worked too.
Motherfucking refs let them get away with bloody murder all night long in the paint. We had to beat the Celts and the refs.He got the absolute shit beat out of him all night.

Still consistently one of the best rim protectors in the league right now that starts and has averaged 30+ minutes per game:
1. Ivica Zubac (players shoot 39% at the rim against him)(!!!!!!)
2. JA (players shoot 45.1% at the rim against him)
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo (players shoot 50% at the rim against him)
You have a better shot at scoring on Giannis than JA.
