I mean, Jarrett's worst post season game last season was better than Allen's best post season game with Miami. But other than that, I see your point.

I think trying to compare raw counting stats, especially decades later when talking about the Celtics and Lakers, is not the best way to go about it. The pace of play even from now compared to a few years ago is significant, let alone what happened 30-40 years ago.

Love JA and I'm pretty sure I agree he is the best "4th guy" in the league this season. I'm just not sure I'm ready to compare him to hall of famers on repeat championship level teams.

I'll concede the Warriors. But not the Celtics or Heat. Who was the 4th best player on the Heat?

The Heat's 4-10 were a bunch of high energy, physical or guys who could hit 3's and hold their own w/ 2 of LeBron/Wade/Bosh resting. Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Chris Anderson, Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers, Rashard Lewis.

I’d argue Shane Battier was the 4th most important player on those Heat teams. Perfect 3 and D guy allowing Lebron to not have to guard the best wing on the other team. Also he allowed the Heat to play small ball moving Bosh to the 5

I think it’s premature to compare JA to players and teams with fully finished careers.

Also JA has good teammates but, so far, no one of them are Bird, Magic or LeBron. That does matter.

Well reframing away from Jarrett's place in history, can we appreciate what he is doing? I think there's exactly one center off to a better start on the year, and Nikola Jokic is a dude in his own category. JA is out there averaging 15 and 11 on 69% from the field, over 2 STOCKS and only one turnover per game. He's an efficiency monster so far this year.

Somebody make a cryptic “stop trying to find a way to FIT-OUT” tweet asap

Allen inexplicably goes through these stretches where he's completely invisible. He hasn't been dominant in a couple weeks.

I think it is fascinating how his mood shifts through the season. Part of me feels it will track some release of a manga series or something. However the good thing is he doesn't pout about shots which given our team is a great feature for a top10 defensive big
