Jimmy Butler Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
aint nobody giving a first for korver lmao
After acquiring Butler the 76ers are seemingly going "all in"; Korver is really the final piece of the puzzle. The Bucks look to have finally made the leap, and another lethal outside shooter could be all they need to tie it together. LeBron might be cranky and finally apply some pressure to Magic to acquire a shooter.

The Cavs can afford to sit back and allow a bidding war to unfold. They can easily demand and expect a 1st round pick from any of these competitive teams for whom outside shooting is a necessity.

If the Cavs still had James, peering into Butler would make sense even for one year.
But this squad, no way.
But at some point the Cavs are going to have to do something.

They are, WE TANKIN!!!!

I’d rather be bad and ride the tank wave until the team that broke the NBA is broken up. Hopefully we can time it well enough to be a contender when they’re coming to a close. Everyone is a fake contender otherwise. Maybe the Rockets aren’t. Maybe.

Imagine if every team subscribed to that logic and sent their stars to NY, LA and Miami to compete with the Warriors. There would be 4 contenders and 26 teams trying to out tank each other . I guess one could argue it's better than one super team winning it 3 out of the last 4 years, but the lack of interest from those fan bases would be a deterrent for any owner from a business perspective. Philly fans trusted the process but that is rare and even then it ended up not being as ideal as they wanted. I'm not saying you're wrong but sucking on purpose hasn't worked out well for Phoenix and Orlando and they've been going strong for 7 years.

The only roadblock for Korver to the Sixers that I could see is the guaranteed money he has for next year. I have a feeling they are going to try to get in a 4th star this summer and work some sort of cap magic to do it. They could have 21 million in cap room even with Butler's cap hold. They must have some way in mind to open up the extra money for another max slot. After Simmons current contract is up in the summer of 2020, a big free agency signing will most likely go out the window. It's this summer or never for the Sixers.
