I don't know if there have been existing thread about his free agency, so just attach it to that Mods.

Anyway, seeing how he blossom into a legitimate two way player, who do you see will offer him the max this offseason? I know the bulls have the bird rights, but if the price went up, will they still retain him? I for one see his free agency as a expensive bargaining war, meaning even if someone offer him 100 million in 5 years, it is still considered as cheap seeing that salary cap will increase exponentially for the next 3 to 4 years and it will coincide with him entering into his peak and prime years. On the other hand, i am not sure what's the limit you can offer from someone coming out of his rookie contract under the current CBA.

For potential suitors, i can see the clippers giving an offer ( i think the new owner wouldn't mind spending) and you have the Hornets (think jordan wouldn't mind spending?) which in dire need of a SG. Boston might come in and make a deal with all those assets they have. Any opinions?

I see Butler staying with the Bulls. He and Rose play great off of one another. Clippers are going to have enough to worry about with keeping Jordan around.

Bulls already said they are matching no matter what. Think they are going to try and give him the max before he even visits any other teams. Here is a good article that breaks down the numbers based on projections.

Butler will be a Bull for a long time.

Leonard will be a Spur.

Gasol will stay on the Grizz.

Aldridge is probably the only top FA guy I can actually see leaving.

Depends on how committed the owners for the Bulls are to spending money. I think he will stay with the Bulls, but wouldn't surprise me if he went to the Lakers or some other team.

Lakers will offer the bank but Bulls will match of course. Then Lakers will probably end up signing Rondo/Monroe.

That's how I see it at least.

How exactly did Butler get so friggin good in one off-season?

you could also argue that Klay also made that jump as well, though not as substantial as Kawhi and butler did. I know kawhi benefitted greatly from the Spurs but not really sure if i could say the same about Chicago and butler ( though they quite draft very well for the last decade or so). Jimmy probably thought Rose will or may be hamper on injury again and he decided to learn a thing or few offensive arsenal.

Butler said he rented a house this summer that didn't have a tv. He basically worked out and worked on his game the entire summer. He deserves a ton of credit for what he consistently brings. He put in the work and is going to be rewarded handsomely for it.

I know we have Bulls fans on this board, do you think Butler gets even better? Right now, he's probably knocking on the door of the top-5 SGs in the league (if he's not there already). Can he get good enough to challenge for that #1 spot?

Seeing as the person most people consider to be the top SG *harden* is nothing more than a manufactured star, who's to say he already hasn't?

I'm not sure there's a SG in the league right now that I'd take over him.

If I needed a guy for a game or so, I'd probably still take Wade even though I personally hate him. Probably Kobe too.

If I needed a guy for a season, I'd take Butler. I think Harden and Thompson are a bit overrated.

Beal is not far behind. Especially if you're watching the game right now.

As good as Butler is, it's more of an indictment of the SG's in the league right now. That position has been a serious disappointment since Kobe's injury problems.
