(No Longer) Joe Woods’ Defense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Woods likes what he’s seen, which includes speed off the edge and a lot of energy.

"Right now, he’s doing a good job and he’s getting comfortable and he’s playing well for us and we’re going to continue to do more things to create some one-on-ones and use him in coverage, as well,” Woods said.

Someone like Jed should be given a week or two to heal since he's way more important to us long term. We can survive with Hance, as opposed to Jed playing bad on a hurt ankle.

Maybe if Hubbard wasn't injured they would have. And an ankle isn't a hamstring, back, or muscle tear. Maybe the doctors are saying that playing isn't likely to lengthen the recovery time.

100%...As long as its a lower sprain and not a sever tear, sprains are best to be worked out, and used. It helps get the blood flowing to the injured area and get the ankle healed.

I believe it was in his post-game presser after the Texans game that Stefanski said he was proud of Wills for gutting it out and added very matter-of-factly said that Jed isn't any worse for the wear. That falls precisely in line with what you said about the lower sprain.

There's no way in hell that Jed is dealing with a high ankle sprain -- if that were the case he'd probably be on IR as he be out for at least three games.

Exactly. Lower sprains is how Lebron seemingly sprained his ankle every other game, was all dramatic, stayed in the game and didnt miss any games. You can play through it if you can tolerate the pain and you dont lose any flexibility.

One thing for sure, Jedrick is a tough cookie, lol.

Wildly impressive for a team as new as this one. The defense is in all likelihood not going to be able to do anything resembling the past two weeks performances against LA, but that shouldn’t necessarily be a cause for concern. This Unit is going to improve the longer we get into the season, become less erratic and more consistent. Getting clapped by the Chargers doesn’t change that.

Shut down a team with all the momentum in their home stadium.

Letting Ward go one on one with Jefferson was such a great call.

What's impressive is that due to injuries, the following guys got a ton of snaps: Greedy, Elijah Lee, Taki, Delpit, MJ Stewart

Building depth.

Not sure what Clowney's credited stats were but he was making an impact in the backfield all game.

Great to see Takk with an athletic sack

Myles was disruptive, especially in the second half with a sack, pressures, TFL, and at least one tipped ball. All Pro

Impressive against a top 3 offense. That is SB caliber. Hope this is sustainable.

It's just a nice benefit to have replacement level players step in and perform well. A testament to Joe Woods putting guys in positions to succeed.
