(No Longer) Joe Woods’ Defense

Just wanna shout out Delpit, I don't think it's a coincidence that the entire D came around when he came back. His range on the back half has been special, and we already trust him to pick up guys like Robinson and Theilen out of the slot on some plays. He, Harrison and JOK really help us to play unpredictable with the way all of them can really play multiple roles for us.
 
Of the 22 pressures, 6 came when we brought more than 4.

Id love to see how many times they did.
 
Why can’t woods and KS be great at the same time?? Seems like when the defense plays well the offense sucks and vice versa

Wife's birthday celebration since halftime in the backyard... I was sweating out the score without the game on.

So I don't know any details, other than after the Bears game Woods and the players said the scheme hasn't changed, but the players are processing quicker within the system.

Glad everything is starting to click into place!

They executed tremendously for the entire game, looked like they'd been playing together for years. Pass rush and secondary looked really strong. Big plays all the way around from the d, only got beat deep a couple of times that I saw.

...and the Browns aren't even healthy yet! Imagine what it's going to look like once Malcolm Smith goes back to being a veteran emergency bench warmer.
 
Really impressive to see them bounce back after that first drive. I hope this solidifies that this defense can be great if we bring pressure. The soft, prevent stuff just keeps us on our heals all game.
 
When we blitz and play man we might be the best defense in the entire league. Sky is the limit for this group. Our whole defense line is balling out. Jok is playing great. All 3 of our safeties are really playing well, love watching then fly around. Ward has been inconsistent but our CBs have also been pretty solid.
